Awesome

I have visited this place only once but I'm definitely planning to go back. Loved their soup and vegan version of shepherd's pie. The place is really nice as well. My non veg friend also loved it and wants to go back.

update: this is probably my favorite vegan restaurant in town at the moment!

pleasant surprise on the road

We were starving and decided to take a break for lunch in Bratislava on our way to Italy and we took HappyCow recommendations seriously and it was a good choice ! We had the soup of the day which was Mexican lentil soup with avocado and tortilla chips, seitan wrap and a Mexican burger. The soup was delicious, slightly spicy and filling. By the time we got our main course we were already full. My burger was very good, slightly falling apart so I ate it with utensils:) home fries very tasty. The wrap was also flavorful . Overall we were so full we skipped the desert :) friendly staff speaking English. The downside -cash only. Luckily we had some cash on us (unlike in Berlin where we had to go on an atm quest :))

Pros: tasty, friendly staff, good value for money

Cons: cash only, few tables

Best vegan junk in Bratislava

If you have not vegan friends take them here. This bistro fights all stereotypes about tasteless boring vegan food. Honestly it's not healthy fitness choice especially in the evening without daily menu but you will enjoy every bite. And also your not (yet) vegan friends will be very surprised in the best possible way.

Pros: fair price , very tasty , visually appealing

Cons: no salad options

Cozy

I heard amazing things about this place from friends who aren't even veg.
This gave me no other choice than to try it out. The expectations were reached and the food was great, the only thing that I didn't fully enjoy was the music. It was really loud and I could barely hear the people I was talking to.

Pros: Cozy

Cons: Loud music, maybe choice of music

Best Vegan restaurant in Bratislava

Without a doubt, this is the best vegan restaurant in the city. Daily menu is always good. All of the burgers are delicious. They even offer great desserts. My favorites are the veg-dogs, they're such an amazingly balanced comfort food ❤ and the double sandwich, just lovely flavours. This place never disappointes.

Wonderful

With my phone service not working properly (on a phone that was nearly dead), stomach growling, nose running and legs protesting, I was absolutely delighted to step into this place. As I tend to when entering a vegan restaurant in a foreign city/country, I immediately felt at 'home'. The décor is great, the staff are helpful, the food is delicious (and, compared to Vienna prices, shockingly affordable), the interesting drink options are plentiful, the location is good and the WiFi is fast. The staff don't speak fluent English, but hey, this isn't an English-speaking country! They do do their best, though, which is nice. I also like that they offer several veganised Slovak dishes, even if they're not quite up my alley (the one I had was fried). Highly recommended. I'd gladly pay the 5€ train fare from Vienna just to eat there again...in fact, I might just do so tomorrow!

December 2017 update: Sadly I was unaware that they were just about to celebrate their 365th day of being open the following day (d'oh!), but I once again had a delighful experience whilst in town during my 'birthday weekend', enjoying their daily specials of Thai coconut soup and seitan souvlaki, both of which seemed so lovingly and expertly seasoned and prepared. It warmed my heart to see how busy the place was on a Saturday afternoon (which is a good job, as it also meant I had to make a few rounds about the vicinity in the bitter cold!), and I can't wait for what gastronomic pleasures my next visit brings. One thing is certainly: it won't be too far off from now! 😊

(P.S. - If this place alone isn't enough to visit Bratislava, they've got the most well-stocked vegan shop I've ever visited; I love my dear Maran Vegan, but it seriously puts Vienna to shame.)

Pros: English menu (staff do their best to speak it too), Plenty of veganised traditional dishes, The prices are incredible

basico y caro

No entiendo muy bien las opiniones que hay, la verdad es que es muy basico, ofreciendo mas que nada hamburguesas y quesadillas y para la ciudad que es muy caras. Hay muchos mejores por la zona.

Pros: horario

Cons: caro y poca variedad

the best vegan place in bratislava

Not only nice and cosy atmosphere, but incredible and tasty food. I always go there with my non- vegan friends and family and they always love the food there!
The balans burger is the best in my opinion, but their quesadillas and lunch menu is great too!

Pros: all vegan, cosy atmosphere, the best food

Cons: sometimes they are out of food and coffee machine , sometimes you may not find a place to sit, they dont take credit cards

Best vegan spot in the city

When you want to be sure you'll get great food, visit Balans. Quality of the food and creativity is amazing and it's very consistent, i've never been disappointed. Their veg-dogs are already legendary, burgers are amazing as well...also try the delicious thai curry soup. they have also daily lunch menu and are open during weekdays, which is not so common in Bratislava. Very generous portions and fair prices. Absolutely recommend to any vegan! It's not only the best vegan spot in Bratislava, but also one of the best vegan spots i've ever visited abroad.

Pros: Delicious food and consistent quality, Big portions, opening hours

Pinnacle of vegan food in Bratislava

This bistro is one of the best places to eat out in this city. You can choose from fixed offer of tasty vegan "junkfood" like burgers, veg-dogs, wraps, etc.
"Healthier" options are served as daily lunch menu but they last till early afternoon. There is daily menu also on weekends

Pros: very tasty , opening hours , they dont repeat daily menu often

Cons: kinda crowded in peak hours (lunch)

Best vegan bistro in Bratislava

I've been eating here for over a year now and I have to say that Balans makes the best vegan food in Bratislava. They change their menu daily while also having a fixed burger and quesadilla menu. They offer amazing lemonades and desserts as well. The only issue I have with this place is the service - I find the staff a bit unprofessional sometimes, which could definitely be improved by some training, but it's nothing too troublesome. I would definitely recommend checking it out.

Pros: Delicious food, Low price, Good location

Cons: Under-trained staff, Limited seating

Awesome place with comfort food

I am so exited about this place! I ate my best meal since going vegan in there, they have so many options and friendly stuff. My brother who just don't think about going vegan love their food (and he is still pretty-much meat-eater who used to avoid vegan food)

Pros: Friendly stuff, Good price, Awesome food
