Healthy Korean food - Edit
If you've ever wanted vegetables in your pancakes, this is the place to go. Also really recommend the date tea. I'm not much of a tea drinker usually, but it was super yummy.

Super Healthy Food That Tastes Good - Edit
I honestly don’t know why I don’t come here more often especially since this is one of the few places that I can a get a super healthy vegan meal that is full of veggies and whole grains, and I have tons of options. No vegan fast food here.
Read moreI ordered the Energy Pancakes which came with 3 sauces that I really enjoyed dipping into. I also ordered the jade make sushi. The flavor was perfect and the sauce wasn’t overly salty. Just really healthy food that tasted good and felt good too.
The only complaint, which confuses me, is that they use styrofoam containers. So much good going on here - I totally don’t get why these are still being used. #Veganuary

Amazing oil free stir "fry's" - Edit
They steam saute most of their dishes and label the ones that do contain oil. Finally a vegan place that's actually healthy. Perfect for WFPB eating patterns (who are flexible on salt, miso is a thing 😉). We eat here every chance we get. Love this place.

Grateful for this gem - Edit
Casual and comforting. The ginger citron tea is delicious and healing. It's rare to be able to eat at an Asian restaurant without having to navigate past a meat laden menu. I felt safe here.
Read moreI will need to order soup next time since a regular patron who sat next to our table raved about it and had our server show it to us. The secret Mr. Scott soup.
Dumplings, chop chae and mung bean dessert were scrumptious.
The Bruce Lee lamp made me giggle and it was wonderful to see the wall of fame -- a testimony of all the lives they enhanced.
Pros: Dishes labeled oil free or low oil, Many options all vegan menu

I love this place. Their soups are the best. My favorite soups are 9 Ways to Nirvana and Dr Ks Cure All noodle soups. Yum.

Yummy - Edit
My first experience was great! Food was very tasty. I work in Rosemont and took the drive to this sweet little spot. I will absolutely continue to try other dishes as this is the closest vegan restaurant to my office.

Delicious food, great service (visit in 2019) - Edit
[This review is from a visit in late 2019]
Read moreMy group of 9 women from a conference held down the road walked into this place with only having called ahead 20 minutes earlier to ensure we could be accommodated. The service was very good, and the food was even better. The restaurant wasn't packed but they were doing a good amount of business and they managed to keep up with demand quite well. I would love to go back and try more of the items on the menu, everyone at our table seemed very happy with what they tried!

Went years ago and still talk about how great the food was! Loved all the things our table ordered, everything for flavourful and delicious. Even the non-vegans were very satisfied. Will come back next time I'm in Chicago!

Fantastic and healthy - Edit
Amitabul, which meaning Awakening in Korean, has been serving healthy vegan fare in Chicago not far from O’Hare airport for 30 years. I fell in love at first sight. The Menu looked amazing. Selected the kimchi tofu noodles and they were spicy and tasty. I can’t wait to return to this serene but alive restaurant where my heart lies.

Delicious dining - Edit
We went in for dine in service. They lit the candles in the shrine just for us. The service was fabulous. For 2 people we ordered the dumplings, energy nut , and kimchi pancakes. That was too much for us so we had left overs. Nice big portions and healthy dining options. I thought it was interesting they have meal plans on the menu.

Very Healthy, Decent Quality - Edit
They offer a lot of very healthy options, but the quality isn't that special. I mostly cook stir-fry when I'm making food myself and I don't feel like this is any better than what I do. It's still pretty good though.

With the COVID-19 pandemic I decided to do a pickup order of KIMCHI TOFU STIR NOODLE. Upon entry I was immediately uplifted by the friendly smell of incense. The decor was beautiful and clean. I picked up my meal (double bagged and with my name on it). The food was fresh, delicious, and of great portion size!

Kick your spirit into high noon! The names and descriptions of dishes alone are worth going for! Very healthy, warming food, though I do not think it’s organic, as they don’t mention anything about that. The owner is always there. Very committed. Fun looking at the many photos celebrities eating there in the foyer. We saw Karen there last time, formerly of those Karen restaurants that shut down a while back. To me, you have to be in the right mood to want this oil and salt free food, but nice in the Winter or when you’re feeling under the weather... but if your sick, stay home! Don’t spread those nasty germies! Order take out. I always see lots of to go orders happening there. Bottom line, this place was voted #1 vegan restaurant in Chicago for a reason. It’s healthy.

Great appetizers! - Edit
I tried three different appetizers while I was here and they were all fantastic! I had the dumplings, spring rolls, and tofu with the veggies. The spring rolls were my favorite out of those three I tried but they all tasted so fresh and healthy. I would love to come back and try one of their main dishes.

A vegan favorite where we have never had a bad meal. Teas are awesome, and can’t beat the ice cream.
