Our go-to vegan cafe in Bali. - Edit
While we were in Bali last month, we thought about giving the vegan & minimal lifestyle a shot and Amami was one of our go-to vegan places in Bali. And there's where we came up with an idea to start a blog to promote veganism. We did mention Amami in our launching post:

Nice place - Edit
The location is cute and staff at amami super-friendly.
Read moreI choose to be experimental and took the carbonara pizza (white cashew base and crispy tempeh on top) on gluten-free cassava pumpkin dough, my husband took a classic pizza „focaccia“-style.
It turned out that we both enjoyed my pizza much more! As we have so many (and good) Italian restaurants in Germany, we could compare the more classic style pizza pretty good - it was similar priced that a similar one in Germany, but couldn’t really reach it tastewise (nevertheless good).
The more exotic version with the tempeh and cassava buttom was awesome! So if you’re very much into original Italian cuisine, I would recommend an obviously freestyled / extended version of their dishes with local twist!
Same with the dessert - I had a chocolate croissant and my husband a mixed icecream bowl.
The croissant was yummy - but not really like the croissants I know 😁 (more dense in texture instead of light / fluffy / buttery).
Would come again 😊👍🏼
Pros: super-friendly staff , nice location
Cons: not soo original Italian, but yummy!, portions rather small

Outstanding! - Edit
We stumbled upon this all-vegan Italian restaurant on our first day in Canggu, and we have come here every day since. Quite simply perfection! Carbonara was my favorite dish before going vegan 4 years ago, and tiramisu was my favorite dessert. The creaminess of the dishes are just unbelievable, I cannot fault them. Best vegan food I've had since becoming vegan. Absolutely lovely owners too.😊 I wish you both all the best for this fantastic place! Much love from Ireland ❤️

I was so excited to discover this newly opened restaurant. The dishes I’ve tried have all been very good. I especially recommend the pumpkin crust pizza. 50k pizzas on Fridays and Sundays! The owners are involved and still trying to improve things so they’re open to feedback which is great!

The best!! - Edit
Amami is the best vegan restaurant I’ve ever been to. I’ve always loved Italian food and it’s hard to get good Italian food as a vegan, because a lot of it is made with cheese. The owners of the restaurant are from Italy and defenitely know how to cook Italian. They even managed to make a vegan version that is just as tasteful, which I find very impressive.
Read moreWe tried about 10 different dishes in 3 days (including dessert) and all of them were great. I would especially recommend the ravioli, pizza carbonara, pizza calzone and lasagna. All the desserts we had were great. I loved the tiramisu and the aquafaba mousse. The pizza nutella is also lovely!
You should defenitely go and check it out! I’m sure you’ll be amazed as well :)
Pros: Delicious Italian food, every dish is great, The owners are from Italy and very kind, It’s not expensive at all

Really good! - Edit
We went for dinner and ordered the Burrata pizza (we though it was impossible to have vegan burrata but it was so good!), a polenta dish (forget the exact name) and the tiramisu. They were all delicious! Went back for the buffet lunch the next day which was really good as well. Definitely would recommend!

Fish in the water (not kidding) - Edit
There was a small fish swimming in the “complimentary” water (you only get one glass). At first, I thought it was a bug, no worries. But nope, it was a full on fish. The waiter laughed and gave me a another one. My girlfriend ordered the gnocchi which arrived in a reasonable amount of time. It was decent. She finished eating it. They picked up her plate and informed me it would another 15 minutes for my pizza. It finally arrived and was very mediocre. Not sure how but the cheese was really watery (I’ll post a photo). I never post negative reviews, but I felt compelled based of the experience. Would not recommend (sorry). In the end, the waiter saw me writing the review and offered us a free desert. We got the tiramisu which actually tasted amazing.
