Good vegan option in Shinjuku

Food was decent and OK priced, the menu is mainly Western style dishes.

Love their food!

love this place! I really like the karaage and soy ham cutlet. Salad lunch is sooo good with the onion dressing 😋
Tiramisu and cheese cake are my favorite. Also the pancake 🥞 with soy whip cream is really good.

Pros: All vegan, Good position , Friendly staff

Overpriced but tasty

I enjoyed the food I ate today and it was great to have so many choices at an entirely vegan restaurant. The food was quite good but I’m not sure it entirely warranted the cost. I would probably not visit again unless I was in a pinch and needed to find something I could eat as a vegan.

Pros: Fully vegan menu, Quick service, Free wifi

Cons: Expensive, Small amount of tofu in tofu curry

Those pancakes really are heavenly

Wasn't Journey located in Kabukichō and closed for a while before relocating, or was that a fever dream I had?

Anyway, Ain Soph is one of the first fully vegan restaurants I learned about in Tokyo, so it holds a special place in my heart despite being expensive/mainstream. Since the prices are a bit steep, I can't try as many options as I'd like every time I visit.

I finally got to taste their famous Heavenly Pancakes, and I loved them! Please don't expect Japanese fluffy pancakes -- the lack of eggs, milk and butter gives these a scone-like texture. I actually find regular Japanese pancakes to be disgustingly eggy and too heavy, so I loved these (scones are in my top 3 pastries for sure).

Sad that the seasonal choice of ice cream was rum raisin, though (Iwould have loved regular soy/vanilla flavor), but the whipped cream with roasted nuts was fantastic.

I hope I can get rich soon, and maybe try one of their "everything" dinner courses -- the wraps and salad parfait looked so good!!

Pros: Well-established, they know what they're doing, Presentation

Cons: Expensive, Portions are on the smaller side

My go to

Whenever I’m back in Tokyo, this is my safe place.
Everything on their menu is very tasty.
Their pancakes are so good.
I had my birthday here one time and the staff were very accommodating and sweet as well.

Pancakes

Really good. Very fulling. Got the pancake set meal for lunch. Am currently very full. It came with a salad parfait, tomato soup, a tea, and tje pancakes. Also got a side of soy cutlets. Nice calm restaurant vibe. If you can ask for the window table upstairs.

A little pricey but worth it

All vegan menu!! They have vegan course meals which seems rare.
Aside from the standard menu, they have limited seasonal offerings, cookies and biscuits for take out, and made to order cake.

Nutritious and Delicious!

What an enjoyable dining experience - a generous selection on the menu, each serving full and abundant, leaving you satisfied, but not gluggy and over-indulged. Delicate and well-balanced flavours, attentive service and considerate touches like lemon and mint water that you can continue to help yourself to free of charge during your dining pleasures.

Pros: Thoughtful extras like lemon and mint water to, help yourself to, beautiful light-filled spaces, , well-presented dishes, changing specials.

Cons: It gets quite busy here so call ahead or line up, early to avoid the long wait and queues!

Great food and friendly service

We enjoyed our meal very much. An interesting salad with lots of extras like tofu balls and a hot flan. Came with sourdough bread or rice. Partner has a mushroom curry. Gave it the thumbs up. Wish we had room for the pancakes. Next time. Highly recommend.

Pros: Great vegan food - good sized portions too, Large menu so plenty of variety, Friendly service

Cons: Expensive , Not open for breakfast

Great food

I ate here twice on one trip and once on another. The food was great on all trips, especially the dry curry and the kara-age.
However, the staff were very rude on two separate occasions. I don't expect to be waited on hand and foot, but our food was pretty much thrown at us. It's not enough to stop me going back there.

I particularly liked the biscuits and treats sold beside the till. It was hard to find vegan sweets so these came in handy.

Pros: Amazing food, Decent portions

Cons: Staff can be rude

Please note: I went to the Ginza location which isn't available on here! Look at this pretty lunch at Ain soph Ginza (Tokyo Japan)...this is one of the vegan restaurants that I visited during my Japan trip this year... ~heavenly biscuits~

Went here for the ~heavenly pancakes~ even though they were more like biscuits than the fluffy pancakes I was expecting. The toppings, like the whipped cream and ice cream, were a little much but you can eat around it. The mocha latte was pretty good. Overpriced imo but a nice option! It was hard to find at first but it’s literally right outside the train station.

Ain Soph

I've eaten at this Ain Soph location a few times, it has a nice balance of being casual and is a little nicer. The food is always decent, but nothing I've been jumping up and down about.

The savory food is OK and the most memorable thing I've had is the salad served in a tall cup. I think I mostly remember this because of the odd presentation though! The fried "chicken" nuggets were OK. The pancakes are very delicious. I'd say if you have to choose one thing here, vegan pancakes it is!

Delicious food in bright venue

We had a salad bowl, salad with dips, tomato soup, fettuccine with basil pesto and lotus and eggplant, cheesecake and ice cream with fruit. We also had coffee with soy milk and a beer. Everything was delicious, except the coffee that was ok but not great. The venue was bright, staff were friendly and service was quick. I’d be keen to come back to try more on the menu if I could. We were lucky and got a table straight away, but it seems it’s often packed so they provide a list of nearby restaurants with vegan food to help people who can’t get a table, which I think is pretty sweet...

Amazing Flavours

We were happy to wait a half an hour for a table in order to experience the food at Ain Soph Journey.

It also meant that lots of people are wanting to eat vegan food in Tokyo - which is always a great thing.

From the lovely Australian girl who served us to the fresh and flavourful food, it was a great experience all round.

We were really greedy - making the most of the opportunity to eat fully vegan meals from a fully vegan restaurant!

The taco bowl was packed full of flavour and fresh veg. The gluten free pasta was so delish. The hummus was perfect.

Then there were the fluffy vegan pancakes!

Absolutely worth the money! A special occasion was had!

Pros: All veg!, Amazing flavours. , Cosy atmosphere.

All tables were reserved

During our trip we went to this restaurant, but all tables were reserved. We were very disappointed, but fortunaly there are many biscuits to take away.
This restaurant is near to Metro station and there is an English Menu (not for all products).
Their biscuits are really delicious ^_^

Pros: Delicious biscuits, Near a Metro station (Shinjuku-Sanchome)

Cons: Reservation

Nice dining experience with variety of options

Delicious food. I saw reviews about the space being fancy / pretentious. Although we were very casual with our backpacks, we still had a comfortable and pleasurable experience. FYI a little hard to locate. Front of restaurant is just a door with limited branding.

Pros: Lots of healthy options

Cons: Hard to locate

Ok.

Ain Soph is ok. Honestly a bit pretentious and overpriced, but the food is good quality. Would highly recommend the nuggets if you like fake meats. Also this place appears to be busy every night. Three times I've tried to go for dinner and found it booked out, walk-in seems fine for lunch.

Pros: Nuggets

Cons: Expensive
