Great all vegan place to stumble into in Shinjuku. Their highly advertised pancake was to die for and their curry was also great!

extremely rude staff :( - Edit
I ate here last year and loved it, and was excited to come back with my partner on our trip to Tokyo this past month. However, the rude staff left me never wanting to come back again. We arrived right when the restaurant opened. Although the restaurant was empty except for one other table, we overheard the employee rejecting everyone who tried to come in without a reservation. So if you come, you had better make a reservation. The employee went out of their way to make us feel unwelcome, throwing our menu on the table without bothering to ask us if we wanted any drinks or anything. After only 2 minutes of us looking at the menu he came back and asked us “are you done yet?” Which was incredibly rude. When we ordered, he didn’t say anything, just came back and threw our plates down on the table. We couldn’t help but notice that when a group of Japanese customers came in, the employee was incredibly friendly to them, took the time to explain the menu, and was attentive to their table the entire time. It wasn’t a matter of language barrier either, I speak Japanese fluently. It was obvious that the employee was treating us especially bad. The food was really good but the customer service was bad enough to make me never want to come back. I hate to leave such a negative review, especially for an all vegan restaurant:(

Great lunch - skip the dessert - Edit
We came here for lunch and had the full course with 2 sides, everything was great except the dessert - the ice cream tasted like water and small cake was dry and a bit blend.

Okay, depends what you get - Edit
Came right at 6pm when they re-opened for dinner, on a Saturday. Note, the place is tiny and there are a few steps down to get in. There are only three tables here so we got lucky because they have a small group table, a table for 2 and a 6 top. Since we were a table for two, they turned away the couple right after us, even though the 2 group tables were available, perhaps they were waiting for their reservations to show up.
Read moreThose two group tables filled up immediately though so it was a full house.
Got the soy karage, which was bland. Wish they came with a sauce or something.
Partner has a nut allergy, so we attempted to ask if the pancake batter has nuts or if they were just on top, it sounded like they're just on top but they said no about removing them, so we didn't try this dish :(
Also, got taco dinner plates, which were good but left us wanting more tortilla chips since they only give you THREE 😭😭
Overall okay, I guess come during the time they offer the dish you're looking for since they change up, and call ahead if you don't have a reservation.
Cons: Tiny, Small menu, Might get turned away

Made a reservation, don't feel like it was needed as we were the only reservation of the evening. Food was great, especially the pancakes. The journey course is a LOT of food, beware.

A rather bland journey - Edit
I had the mushroom rice meal and fried soy Chicken. They tasted as bad as they looked. The quiche was decent and the dessert was amazing. The place itself is a bit of a dump but it's a cozy dump. My partner's pasta and journey course was amazing.

I had a full course consisting of delicious soup and supernice salad, then yummy brocolli tagliatelle, a piece of quiche and a gorgeous dessert selection! Yumm!

Delicious lunch w/some luck w/out a reservation and then dinner a few days later! - Edit
So we decided to check this place out and did not realize we would need a reservation. We were first told there were no openings, but luckily, there must've been a no-show.
Read moreThe menu is quite interesting with a few set prix fixe meals, but we decided on some of the a la carte items, also offered. We chose the Hayashi Curry and the Taco Rice with an added side of Karaage.
I thoroughly enjoyed the curry and the taco rice was also enjoyed. The karaage wasn't quite what we expected as it seemed a bit spongy. Probably wouldn't order it again, but the mains were delicious.
We were so impressed by the food here, that we made a dinner reservation before we left.
A few days later for dinner, we both ordered the Japanese Style Hamburger Steak with Demi-Glace Sauce. The dinner menu is the same as the lunch menu, but the hamburger steak appeared to be a special. The steak itself had more of a firm meat-loaf texture, but the sauce was delicious, especially with the mushrooms.
I would recommend trying this place out, but the menu was somewhat limited, so not sure how many repeat visits could be made before duplication. Prices were average.
Pros: Friendly service, Good food
Cons: Somewhat pricey

Rude staff that ignore you - Edit
I went into this restaurant as the door was open. The staff ignored as and then when we sat down they rudely told us the restaurant was closed unless we had a booking. The restaurant was empty. We went th next day to get the vegan gluten free snow balls they had for sale as there were limited options for vegan gluten free. Again the staff ignored us. The payment counter was right at the kitchen so they definitely saw us. Two different staff ignored us and after some time finally decided to serve us. The snowballs were okay.

Lovely! - Edit
After touring the Shinjuku Gyoen National Gardens we found this sweet spot. We waited about 10 minutes for a table. It seems to be a popular spot for locals. It was a real joy to find two plant based restaurants on the same street. Our dishes were delicious. I had the crème brûlée for dessert. Sublime! There was English on the menu along with photos.

If you’re looking for an incredible lunch spot - this is the place. Amazing salads n dressings, and more substantial meals too. They have mega desserts as well. Please note that there isn’t any Japanese meals here however (hence the 4 rather than 5 stars).

Amazing Pancakes - Edit
We had a few things on the menu and by far the pancakes were the star. I didn’t love the savory dishes as I felt like they could use a bit more flavor but the sweets more than made up for it. Their drinks were also good 😊

My favourite vegan spot - Edit
When I was a uni student, I used to go there almost every week. I just love the aesthetics and atmosphere of the store. The staff members are sweet and helpful too. I asked them a few times for surprise birthday plate and they did such a cute plate with mini cakes. They adjust some menu for gluten free too. Everything is tasty, but I have to put an extra emphasis on their signature pudding. Anytime I want to bring some gift to a table on the way to friends' or family's, I buy and take out some of the puddings. The creaminess is uniquely perfect. If anyone asks me for vegan recommendation in my hometown, this restaurant has to be the one.
