Cheap delish tofu pud

I read about this place before I can to lamma island and I was so excited to try the tofu pudding
It definitely lived up to my expectation and was only $12HKD

For refreshment

I had passed this stand few times until I realized that they were selling vegan food.
You get a soy milk or bean curd (either cold or hot) with something that appears to be watery maple syrup?! Could be something else. Anyways, very basic stuff but very inexpensive. (A bowl of curd costs 12 HKD and it's a fair portion.)
It doesn't seem to be very hygienic but you get some kind of picnic feeling.
Lovely old lady serving the food.

a fun pit stop

Don't expect cordon bleu. Family run stall that sells a nice snack in the shade. Friendly and fun,

Traditional Hong Kong dessert

Simple dish to enjoy especially for foreigners, though also very popular among local tourist. Grab a seat under the tree for cooler experience.

The place is however close to a food stall selling other Hong Kong street (non-vegan) food e.g. fish balls and pig skins. Take note if you wish to avoid these in sight.

Take-away of the To Fu Fa is possible.

Worth the trip

This is a little snack cart with some dirty tables and plastic chairs, on the beach, with only one dish on offer. A grim faced little old lady sells you silky soft tofu in a bowl, your choice hot or cold, with sweet hot syrup poured on top. It's a beautiful walk there, about 2 miles from Sok Kwu Wan ferry, or about a mile from Yung Shue Wan ferry.

Pros: atmosphere

Cons: hygene

Yes, that is useful, thanks! At the time of my review, it was on the family walk, at the Northwest corner of Hung Shing Ye beach, Lat: 22.219084 Lon: 114.119202

Thanks Bruce,

The marker appears to be good now. Someone who reads Chinese confirmed it with me against the writing on the background map.

Regards, Stevie
