amazing ! - Edit
The food is homemade and soooo good, the portions are generous for very honest prices. On top of that, the place feels cosy with great music and a nice service.

good food but they run out - Edit
I have visited this cafe several times. Sadly most of the time I come they are pretty much completely out of savory food. The food that I have had is delicious. Just get there right when they open or don’t bother going at all unless you are only in the mood for something sweet.

Nice vegan café, run by actual vegans - Edit
Nice place. Best quality for price vegan food I've had, and seen in the whole city... A little far out from center, but worth it. Staff are not the most talkative, but still kind. I would go back, and do recommend !

Nice place to go for the breakfast, a lunch or a craving afternoon. You must go early for lunch as it's small and they can run out food...

Friendly Cafe - Edit
A small cafe with in & outside seating area. Staff speak English. Excellent coffee. Friendly staff who have a welcoming smile. The food was wholesome, we ordered veg lasagne, brownie and coffee. Although delicious the food was a little dry and would have benefited from sauce. To be fair we did arrive in the very late afternoon and it's possible we got the last food available... Either way, I'd recommend using a vegan cream or cheese in the lasagne. Merci.

Popular vegan cafe in Lyon - Edit
Wonderful to find a totally vegan cafe in Lyon!
Read moreIt's not far from the Centre d'Histoire de la Resistance et la Deportation (very moving and interesting museum).
Looks like they have a soup, salad, wrap and plat each day, and also do smoothies, juices, muffins and so on. We had the plat which was a big tasty slice of vegan lasagne with roasted aubergines served with green salad (nice dressing). We tried the muffins - vegan cake is a novelty in France so you have to grab any opportunity!
Very friendly service and there were plenty of seats inside and out, although it's clearly popular as it was quite busy and the staff seemed to be rushing to try and keep up.
Really good, home-made style lunch which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Pros: All vegan , Easy to find (thanks to HappyCow!), Cakes!

Read moreBref, j'ai attendu avec excitation l'ouverture de Against the Grain.
Lyon is a big city but not really vegan, which is a bit depressing when you want to eat outside.
Well, Against the grain was very expected :)
100% vegan and home cooked, delicious, cheap.
Very warm people.
This is your perfect cantine.
Pros: Très bonne cuisine vegan, Lieu et accueil
Cons: Tout petit restaurant

The restaurant is really small, but the food is great! We went there, it was full of people, so we just bought food and ate it in the parc. But it was so delicious! The tacos with so many ingredients! It was really amazing.

... - Edit
I went to this restaurant because of the good reviews. The lady that helped me was very friendly and a nice host. It also looked very clean. I had a soup and a main dish rice and beans/lentils. Frankly I thought it was very basic. It was something that I can easily make at home. When I'm going to a vegan restaurants I aspect something special, not just rice and beans with some tacos sticked in it. Why not pimp it up with a seitan curry and a bit of salad for example? However this place has great potential and I hope they wont feel offended by this review.

Lyon is the so-called capital of Gastronomy in France. And it's probably true if you like eating all different kinds of meats or cheeses... If you like eating cruel food.
Read moreAs being from Lyon originally, I kind of gave up trying to eat something vegan there when I am rarely visiting the place... until few days ago ! :)
I had a divine thai curry and wonderful yummy cookies in this great little restaurant not far from the campus of Lyon II.
The place was clear, neat and welcoming and the two ladies were just lovely and really willing to advise and help (I was with my two really-not-even-close-to-be-vegetarian-parents). Everyone was happy, especially our bellies and our wallets because it's not expensive at all for such a quality (and nice quantity). And now I will just be super happy to go back to visit Lyon for I found a great cantine !
Thank you very much !! :)
An advice: book your table, it's very popular and in a tiny place (which makes it nice too).
Pros: The delicious Food, The lovely ladies, The Price
