A long wait - Edit
We visited Hempist for lunch but unfortunately waited 90 minutes for our food to arrive, it was a long wait for a, quick lunch pit-stop. Two other tables were also waiting for the same amount of time, actually longer than us, so there must have been a problem in the kitchen. We didn't get quite what we ordered, but it was still tasty.

Great fast food restaurant with sea views (from the 1st floor). The hemp Hot Dog is really nice.

We both had a kebab bowl to take away, which was really tasty and great value. Lots of different and colourful veggies included and the sauces were delicious!

A not so great kebab - Edit
The portion sizes were good (you get a huge portion of chips) but my kebab wasn’t nice at all, it was very dry and the pita bread was over toasted and hard. I ended up not finishing it. Hopefully I just caught them on a bad day, but it’s expensive enough that I’m not sure I’ll give them a second chance.

I am so excited to have discovered this place near the Hastings seafront. Absolutely delicious food and 100% vegan. I had the Belly Buster Nachos which comes with a 10” hot dog, hemp doner meat, a hempy cheeze sauce, jalapeños and more. So tasty, bursting with flavour. The Hempist meat was utterly delicious and so was the hot dog meat. I’m going to come back on Sunday for the Sunday Roast 😋

Stumbled across this little gem today whilst visiting Hastings. Food was delicious, I had the ultimate doner and it was by far the best plant based doner ive had!! Staff were lovely and chatty. Definitely will be back to try the rest of the menu! 👌

I also had nachos which were nice but didn't have any cheese...
Unfortunately I wouldn't come back based on the quality of the food

I had a great experience visiting this restaurant twice over two days in Sept 2020. Tried the burger, hot dog, kabab and both deserts. All very tasty if you are after some non deep fried vegan junk food. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Lovely sea view from dining area also.

We had a burger and a hot dog. It was ok, but I think my standards are high as I had nicer vegan burgers in many other places. It's all junk food, don't go if you like healthier options.

Only gf option is tacos.

Burger was undercooked and mushy and the place was understaffed with some bad attitudes. I wouldn't go back for food, but the coffee was lovely.

The staff were attentive and lovely, the food was absolutely to die for and even my meat-eating family and friends enjoyed their food. The cheesecake is the cherry on the cake, and after eating and drinking I'd relaxed a lot, loved the experience.

Embarrassing example of vegan junk food. 49 mins to get drinks....owner supplied more drinks as we were waiting so long.....waitress grabbed as she was running around all over the place as she was firefighting....told our order would take another 40 mins....only 3 of 4 meals turned up, Luke warm food and small portion....my el diablo at last turned up, lukewarm and very underwhelming, it was meant to have chilli poured over it, it wasn't even a sprinkle... I'm sure the owner had a good night, he'd had a few glasses of wine in the time we'd struggled to have some 'hot' dogs and nachos with a meagre amount of topping. Couldn't be bothered to complain further as the experience was so disappointing....we had an amount to pay and no bill? Moshimo the night before was about the same price and a million times better....

I really enjoyed eating here. The vegan burger was one of the best I have ever had. Really tasty and juicy, and very well made. The staff were also very nice and friendly. Lovely atmosphere in general. Also reasonably priced.
