Great food and service

The place has a real nice atmosphere great food and the best service we got in Porto. The staff is really kind and made us feel really welcome. They offered us to try a new dish for free and even served it with great port wine. The shakshuka was brilliant and the kinder croissant was delicious . Highly recommend!

Incredible!

We had an Easter Brunch that included vegan versions of traditional Portuguese dishes. It was so delicious and thoughtfully put together. The service was kind and attentive. We were SO full when we left, but we will be back to the try the pastries. 100% recommend!

outstanding house-made goods 🥰

A little late with my review, but I can’t recommend this lovely place enough. Went there almost every day during my stay in Porto to eat my way through their delicious dishes and pastries (and for those little chats that always brought a big smile on my face). Such a blessing, thanks a lot!
And I mean - look at this

Pros: loveliest owner and staff 🫶, my personal pastry heaven , finally good portion sizes lol

Cons: the drinks menu could be improved

Had high expectations

Didn’t quite live up to my high expectations and reviews. It was just ok. The croissant was good but off the menu, I was not blown away.

Pros: Friendly staff and service

The sandwiches were OK. I think that the thing this place specialises in is its pastries. I got a cinnamon roll which was delicious!

Where Plant-Based Dreams Come True in Porto

A Padoca is a true gem in Porto for all plant-based food enthusiasts! Catia's passion for the vegan movement shines through in every bite. Her warm and welcoming demeanour adds an extra touch of joy to the already delightful experience. The variety of flavours at A Padoca is simply outstanding - from the refreshing red berries to the comforting coconut and almond croissants. And let's not forget the vegan version of the iconic pastel de nata, a guilt-free indulgence that surpasses the original in taste and quality. The bolo de arroz and other Portuguese classics made vegan are a testament to Catia's creativity and dedication to providing delicious, cruelty-free options. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite to go or settling in for a nourishing bowl, A Padoca's cosy atmosphere and nutrient-packed offerings make it a must-visit spot in Porto. Thank you, Catia, for creating such a haven for plant-based food lovers!

Can’t miss this amazing place!

There’s so much to say about this place! First off, the case of baked goods. OH MY! we tried the vegan Nutella croissant. It was out of this world. And we both had the Benedict. Incredibly delicious and I will be dreaming about this food when back in the states for days to come! It can be a little tough to find with all the construction going on. But do not give up! Bonus: we got to choose a chocolate of our choice upon leaving!

Pros: Incredible food, Baked goods, Service

Insane plant-based pastries, delicious brunch!

Wow, wow, wow. The pastry case here is a wonder to behold. The vegan pistachio croissant, pastel de nata, and napolean are all faves. But everything I've sampled from the case is delicious (and hard to tell it's vegan).

The savory dishes here are delish too. The vegan eggs benedict is rich and delicious, enough to sate even the hungriest belly. Some of the other treats I've tried are great as well, but TBH the benedict holds my heart.

Coffee is excellent, atmosphere is great, and the mosaic on the wall is adorable. Alongside the genuinely wonderful staff, it all comes together to be a great experience. This restaurant works for omnivores and vegans alike, even though it's 100% plant-based. Strong recommend.

Pros: Croissants, Pastel de Nata, Pastries

Best vegan nata in Porto!

We just had the MOST delicious brunch. Our (large) group tried a variety from the menu and everything was perfect. I tend towards savory brunch so my favorite is the Benedict with house-made "eggs" and rich hollandaise. However, I got to try the french toast, chocolate pancakes, curry, avocado toast and many of the pastries from the case and each bite was a delight. The portion sizes are SO generous and they even have house-made plant milk for their beverages.

A Padoca also has an online market for takeaway of their larder items like cheeses and butters, grazing boards, breakfast baskets and more. Check it out here: https://apadoca.pt/

Pros: 100% plant-based menu, Delicious food, Wonderful service

Has a nice interior but lacks flavour far from the downtown core

I ordered the chicken curry. There was no curry and everything tasted bland. There was no salt.

It was like eating a tasteless €15 watery bowl of hummus.

Service is good and the workers are lovely.

Pros: Interior, Service, Nice selection of pastries

Cons: The entree I had lacked flavour

Tasty food

Super busy when we arrived so got the last two seats outside. They ran out of bread so made a pancake with the eggs Benedict - was tasty. We waited for about 40 minutes after our coffee before the food was ready but the waitress gave us a pastry while we waited which was nice. Great custard tart.

Amazing vegan options

So many amazing vegan options here, it was so good we came back a second time. On our first visit I had the vegan eggs benedict, the hollandaise sauce was so good and the egg was not eggy tasting but super creamy and delicious. My husband had the Nutella pancakes which were more like a thick cake than pancakes but very tasty although the portion size was so big and the nut butter so rich he wasn’t able to finish it (unheard of for him). The second time we came back and had pastries instead, we shared a cinnamon roll, kinder bueno croissant and regular croissant between us. The lady serving us was super friendly and kept bringing us more bread and homemade cashew butter and jam while we waited. I would say if you’re in a rush don’t go here as service was quite slow but only because they were so busy. When we came back the second day we brought some friends with us and the lady gave us a bunch of chocolates for free for bringing people along

Choices choices choices

I stopped for lunch at a bustling spot, opting for takeout due to the crowd. I headed to a local park to enjoy my delightful mushroom and pepper pastry, which was simply top-notch. If you have a sweet tooth craving in Oporto, this place will surely satisfy. With a tempting array of pastries and tarts, it's easy to indulge. The twenty-minute walk from the center is well worth it. Jardins do Palácio de Cristal, just five minutes away, offers a beautiful retreat with abundant flowers and birds, especially in good weather.

Pros: 100%, Food, Staff
