Awesome!

Just picked up some food for take away. Food was amazing and delicious. I can recommend to mix up some small bowls to make sure you try different dishes.
Staff has been really nice as well.

Highlight of our trip!

I spent 5 days in Berlin with 3 other vegans recently, eating lots of amazing vegan food, and 1990 was definitely the highlight of the trip. Huge portions packed full of flavour, everything I ordered was amazing.

Great value for money, but a really special place to go. Definitely seek this place out when in the city

One of the best food places we visited while in Berlin!

We were 2 people and shared 10 of the small 3,5€ dishes. We were totally stuffed because, just like the waitress had advised us, that was more than enough. We wanted to try as many as possible though, and they were all SO delicious. The vegetable dumplings were a tad bland, but everything else was awesome, especially the faux meat and the sauces.

Pros: Savoury, great system to mix and try many different plates!

Cons: Hardish to guess the right amount of plates to get

Really delicious and original food! A must to try! Prices are okay, service can be a little bit long if it's full. I will come back for sure.

Pros: Original, Really tasty, Prices correct

Cons: A little bit of wait

can't wait to eat here again

Beautiful interiors and even more beautiful food. I ordered to go and was really impressed by the dishes coming out of the kitchen while I waited. Food is delicious and the deserts deserve a special mention, so good!

delicious food and interesting concept

This is basically Vietnamese tapas - such a good idea! Lots of small dishes at €3.50, as well as a few bigger dishes at €8.50

I shared about half the tapas menu with friends and I liked most of them a lot. The red rice (€2 though the white rice is €1) was nice, and personal favourites were the seitan pockets, leaves with seitan and soya sauce, and the Cary.

The teas are also fresh and huge and delicious and the kurbis cake with coconut cream (like condensed milk!) was really really good.

The decor was nice, service was insanely fast and polite, and the bathrooms were nice. Only gripe was that the potions were small but on the whole they reflected the price and the concept so i can't really hold that against them

Pros: service and decor, selection, taste

Cons: price (but not really)

Vietnamese and Vegan

I would recommend the restaurant to any vegans and vegetarians who feel like vietnamese food.
Menu is made of a long selection of "bowls" which are appetizers and 5 or 6 "Main dishes (Pho, currys, etc).
The bowls were fresh and inventive and it allows you to try different things. The main dishes were more traditionnal but still worth it.

Pros: Tasty, Reasonably priced

Amazing

We had a great time at 1990! You can choose from a variety of smaller bowls which enables you to try lots of different things! The price for one small bowl is 3.50€ You can also choose a larger dish. The food was just beautiful and arrived quickly. Everything tasted super fresh and it was great to eat so many different things and still have just the right amount of food. Yummy drinks too. I'll definitely be back!!

What a beautiful meal!!!!

So as this place had little pictures and no reviews we didn't really give it a thought all week but today we didn't want to venture far and gave it a go. I wish we had done it so much sooner!! A lovely cosy environment, great selection of drinks and table service. The menu contains around 20 small dishes each €3.50 or around 6 ' larger plates' around €9 each.
You will be asked to fill in a tally of what dishes you want, this is great because you don't need to feel embarrassed about how much you order - and believe me you want to order a lot!! The food comes really quickly and is delicious. If the place didn't say it was vegan I would be convinced I was eating meat again. They even have one dish that is like meat on the bone (not for everyone of course) but it was sensational. Second only to another vegan fine dining experience in Barcelona. The staff are friendly and efficient and they have german and English versions of the menu. The food is reasonably priced, more people need to eat here!!
