A small cafe in a shipping crate, next to the brick kiln and Kauri Health Centre. There are dairy alternative milks for hot drinks and raw vegan treats available. Open Mon-Fri 7:30am-2:30pm.
Closed Sat-Sun.
Situated beside the Kauri Healthcare clinic on Featherston St, Contains Coffee has a selection of vegan slices in their fridge, to go with a delicious coffee, tea or chai. Oat, coconut, almond and soy milk available.
Not only sweets, but vegan panini, sandwiches and there is always a pot of soup, with a vegan scone available.
The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming.
Update: in addition to the the snicker bites, there is now irresistible raspberry bounty bites to go alongside the "no nasties" slice.
Great coffee? Check. Vegan treats? Check. Friendly service? Check. For a small coffee place tucked into a shipping container, they pack a lot in. Easy to grab a takeaway (in eco friendly cups) before or after a doctor's visit, or head down the road to Pitt Park. Sit inside the remarkably spacious feeling but tiny interior, read a magazine, and enjoy. There's a small amount of outdoor seating next to the historic brick kiln, and you can often meet friendly dogs and their owners taking a break from their walks on a nice day. I highly recommend the vegan snickers bites: I've walked here just to buy them. The owner is lovely and friendly, too.
