    Instructions

    In a bowl, combine olives, capers, garlic, carrots, celery, and half of the chili sauce in a bowl. In a second bowl, combine olive oil and remaining chili sauce, and brush mixture on the bottom half of the bread and fill with the olive mixture. Top with the veggie salami, veggie ham, veggie mozzarella, tomatoes, and onion. Top with the other 1/2 of the bread and cut into mini-sandwich pieces.

    Ingredients

    (Muffulettas: spicy olive salad sandwich)
    1/4 cup black olives, pitted and chopped
    1 10-ounce jar green olives with pimientos, sliced
    1 tablespoon capers
    4 tablespoon carrot, minced
    1 large celery stalk, chopped
    2 garlic clove, minced
    1 small red onion, thinly sliced
    2 firm tomatoes, sliced
    1-2 teaspoon hot chili sauce
    3 tablespoon olive oil
    1 package veggie ham
    1 package veggie salami
    1 package vegetarian mozzarella cheese
    1 loaf crusty bread, cut in half lengthwise and remove some filling

      Great sandwich. This really is a portable feast. If we're going to the park we take one of these and drinks and we're set for the day.

      Really nice sandwich. I used a crusty baguette for the bread and it was delicious!
