They have Vegan options! - Edit
They do have a separate menu for vegan options. However, a lot of dishes on their menu are vegan as well. Do make sure to check with them while ordering.

Lots of vegan choices - Edit
I have loved Shree for a really long time. They recently seem to have redone their menu, and now have a completely separate vegan section. That being said, they can also still make a lot of other dishes vegan if you ask (my fave is the baingan bharta with roti). Helpful staff and fair prices make this an excellent choice for Indian food in the area.

very helpful - Edit
Shree has been one of my favorites for a while now. The staff is very helpful and you can get almost everything made vegan! Everyone that works here is super kind and welcoming

A big NO for vegans - Edit
Not friendly when I mentioned vegan. Although they had the Happy Cow sticker displayed on their front door, he made me feel unwelcome. Shook his head and said he only has 2 things vegan.

Buffet definitely worthwhile - Edit
While it's not the best Indian fare to be had, the buffet is absolutely worth the trip, and very fairly priced. Staff was polite and helpful, and there were many vegan options.

Pre-theatre dining - Edit
We ate at Shree before attending a play at First Folio Theatre, which is a short drive away. Shree is also a very short drive or a longish walk from the Westmont Metra stop, which makes it convenient. Having chosen the restaurant for its location, I was happy to find that it also had a pleasant atmosphere, an interesting menu, and tasty food. The portions were large (really larger than necessary), and the appetizer that we shared between two people would have been enough for four. I was hungry and glad to eat so much good food, but next time I would order a little less. I don't find myself in that area very often, but I would definitely visit Shree again next time I do so.

Love this place! - Edit
This is probably the only all-vegetarian restaurant close to home for me, and I love it! My husband and I dine here at least once a month... We love that we can get such awesome dosas without going to Devon St.
Read moreIt's a small shop with a nice low-key ambience. I have not tried the buffet as we usually come here for dinner, but I'm a big fan of the paper dosa, medhu vadai, and my husband loves the Mysore masala dosa.
If you're in the area, make sure to check out this place!!
Pros: reasonable prices, all-vegetarian

Fantastic all veg Indian restaurant - Edit
Probably the best Indian food in the area, and all veg. Most stuff without cheese is vegan. The dosas here are as good as any I've ever eaten.
Read moreMy dad was born and raised in India (until 30), lives thirty minutes from this place, and almost always skips the closer places for Shree. Enough said. Go.

Love this place! - Edit
My daughter is vegan so we went to this restaurant. While not all options are vegan, the host is very kind and spent a good deal of time with my daughter talking to her about each dish on the buffet to point out what was NOT vegan by telling her which ingredient made it that way.
Read moreFood is very flavorful, prices are decent and there's plenty of parking. Go for the lunch buffet if you can.
