Unfriendly service

I went here today based on the positive reviews here on Happy Cow. I didn't understand anything on their written menu so I asked him if he could just pick a few items and make me a lunch plate. He said no, you have to pick something. I explained to him that I did not understand what the items were, but he simply didn't care and couldn't be bothered so I just got up and left. I am not going to spend my money at a place where my business is not appreciated. So far I am not impressed with Colombo in general.

Cons: Rude, unhelpful service

Great vegan dosas

We went for dinner and had delicious vegan dosas (one masala and one onion). Also best vadai we have had in Sri Lanka. Items cooked in ghee clearly labelled.

Staff incredibly friendly and their English is very good.

Pros: Delicious, cheap, good amount of vegan options

Cons: None

Oldest Indian vegetarian Restaurant

This is one of oldest Indian type vegetarian restaurants in Sri Lanka. They sever Dosa, wada, idly, string hoppers. Place is very clean compared to competitors and air conditioned. All and all this kind of Indian vegetarian restaurants are available these days every city in Sri Lanka. However 20 years ago this place was superb top hit.

Pros: Can eat alot for 1 dollar, Air conditioned and clean, Cheap

Cons: No cons

Traditional pure veg eatery

Went for lunch today
Too late for rice and curry (possibly they stop serving at 2pm?)
Delicious dosas and sambars
Cheap, cheerful and old school

Great Food In Beautiful Hotel

Lovely old style Vegetarian Hotel with restaurant open to none residents and frequented by local community. Food very good, great curry rice and usual south indian standards. Separate bar, friendly, quiet service. Great place to eat have a beer and chat with regulars plus fill up before heading off to other parts of Sri Lanka as pure veg/vegan food places extremly hard to find certainly in the hill country areas

Pros: Good Food, Great value, Friendly staff
