Quiet but open! - Edit
We went to Albufeira in late November and didn't know that most businesses are actually closed from Nov until Feb. Very hard to find vegan food in off-peak season - thankfully C19 was open! (though we were the only diners in there) My vegetarian bf had the fusilli pasta and I had the vegan tofu stroganoff and both were very tasty and filling. The stroganoff comes with a side of rice or chips, but I would recommend the rice as it goes better with the dish. They also had a range of vegan desserts that were sort of rice puddings and things - I had the caramel one and it wasn't much to write home about but maybe I chose poorly. They are very knowledgeable about vegan options though which is nice!

Convientient location with a few vegan options - Edit
C19 is located about 5 min walk away from the old town square. There are a couple of vegans options like the seitan steak and tofu stromboli. I had the steak which was really nice.

Great vegan options close to the beach - Edit
We went there for lunch and we had such a good time that we returned later for dinner. They have a decent menu for vegans/vegetarians and they seemed to understand clearly what the difference is between the two. The owner and his wife (and the other servers too) were super friendly and the food was fresh and very tasty. Their stuffed portobello mushrooms and stroganoff are just something all non-vegan places should serve because they are not hard to make and they are healthy and tasty! They even had a vegan dessert option (a pudding-type of thing) with several different flavors to choose from. I definitely recommend the place. Although it's not a vegan establishment, they offer several options, friendly and fast service, prices are very reasonable and their hours are more suited to a beach town than the other vegan/vegetarian restaurants in the area. Their mojito is very nice and refreshing too😄!

A bit bland .... - Edit
We visited the restaurant as a family and although the vegan menu was a good size, it felt as if the owners were not 100% sure of what was vegan and what wasn’t. The seitan was so bland and the sauce was also pretty tasteless. The chips were ok though! 😂.

Fantastic vegan menu - Edit
Would be a 5* review if the app allowed. Vegan menu section clearly labelled and the service is great, if you get the chance definitely give it a go! Reasonable pricing, accessible from the main square and not a steep walk! Tofu was tasty and well cooked, served with fries so portion was quite large! Would visit again!

Delicious Food - Shame about the Host - Edit
Food was delicious. I had the mushroom stroganoff with rice & my husband had the seitan steak with vegetables. We would have eaten there again if it wasn't for the hosts derogatory comments about women.

We have found this little gem via happy cow.
Read moreFor the first meal we had setain steak, which was nice. The steak came with veg (cooked to perfection) and an amazing sauce (with mustard). The dessert was okay, but nothing special.
For the second meal, we ordered vegan tofu stroganoff made with 3 different types of tofu and this was super delicious.
We also had cocktails which were lovely.
The staff is amazing, caring and super friendly.
I highly recommend the place.

Tofu stroganoff - Edit
Nice place at the end of the main restaurant/shopping area in downtown Albufeira. The folks who run the place were super friendly. We ordered off the Vegetarian/Vegan section of the menu.
Read moreThe chef knows how to prepare vegan entrees. We especially enjoyed the Tofu Stroganoff and rice, with the Seitan Steak w/ holondaise sauce and sauteed vegetables a close second. The desserts consisted of various flavors of mousse/pudding, which were good. Prices were very reasonable, especially given the entree quality.
We were offered a complimentary glass of Port to cap off the meal, and enjoyed it very much!
Pros: Vegan menu, Excellent food preparation, Friendly service
Cons: Limited dessert selections, Limited entree selections

Fabulous - Edit
We went to C19 because they are one of the only restaurants to offer vegan options. It is fab. I had mushrooms to start and tofu stroganoff with rice for main it was all very good. My Omni family had burger, steak and monkfish rice - they were all very happy! Deserts were delicious too. David and Ann the owners are lovely - happy to talk through options and make recommendations but weren’t pushy. The bill was very reasonable- €95 for 4 people including starters, olives, bread and drinks

Lovely vegan steak with mustard sauce 😍 - Edit
Delicious vegan food, tried both the tofu stroganoff and vegan steak (although it did taste more like pork) great starters too. The owner was a lovely Irish man who was more than happy to accommodate. Visiting for the second time tonight! Keep up the great work guys!

Not so good - Edit
I had the vegan steak and was looking forward to it. But apparently it comes with either an utterly boring salad (lettuce tomato and cucumber) or fried veggies. That’s it. No chips or bread or rice. I asked for some chips as my plate (3 layers of plain and tasteless seitan) looked kind of empty and even vegans have a healthy appetite. The almost polite waiter (too busy to care) asked in the kitchen and came back saying chips would take another 15 minutes. I mean, how ...?!
Read moreSo l didn’t press on as it is not nice to eat chips after a meal. Oh yes, to give it all SOME flavour, there was also a small bowl of undefined mayonaise-like sauce. “100% vegan” was the answer to my question of what kind of sauce this was. Luckily, olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper were on the table to spice up the bowl of salad.
Price: 11 euros. This was including a non-alcoholic beer. As l was paying, another table got served chips. This was around 5-10 minutes after l had asked for some.
In short, meagre. Both the price and the food.
The owner couple was friendly enough, but seemed quite stressed out with a full terrace to wait on outside. My waiter was young, maybe their son.
This experience, combined with the fact that l had to wade through a noisy cesspool of consumerism - also referred to as the Strip - to get there, does not make me want to come back.
Pros: Swift service, Not unfriendly, Fresh salad
Cons: It wasn’t a proper meal, Hasty atmosphere, Tasteless seitan steak

Probably the best service I've ever had in a restaurant! Lovely staff and great food. The seitan was definitely the best I've ever had! This may be an omni restaurant but the effort in their vegan options is astounding.

An amazing cute restaurant with the loveliest owners and staff. Amidst a sea of screaming bilboard restaurants in a beautiful area of the town, it was so nice to find this classy restaurant with at least four vegan options as well as deserts. Open in the evenings too. Had the stroganoff and the hazelnut mousse which were both really good

Very tasty fresh vegan options, great service - Edit
Looking for vegan restaurants in Albufeira is a science for itself. Luckily I found this place on happy cow, and now I am the happy one. Went there twice for dinner and had the tofu stroganoff as well as the Saitan. Both were very tasty and freshly made. Had them with salad and home made chips, made from real potatoes.
Read moreI highly recommend this restaurant for its great vegan options and it's personal service by the owner. The restaurant is well maintained and also this makes it a place to spent time for a nice vegan dinner.
Full dishes are around 10€ which makes it very affordable.
It's a few steps away from the crazy tourist streets of the old city which is good as you will not smell all the greasy food from down there. Too bad happy cow doesn't slow to give five stars, this restaurant certainty would have gained them.
It would be my place to go to while in Albufeira.

Best chips on the Algarve!!! - Edit
It’s impossible to get decent chips(French fries) in Albufeira. Every restaurant insists on using small skinny cut ships from the frozen isle of Lidl.

Great - Edit
This place is right next to the market, and the staff are very friendly! My parents didn’t have a vegan option but they enjoyed their food so it’s a good place when going out with omni friends. I had the seitan steak, expected more, but thankfully I ordered chips too which were very good and lots for the price. I will probably come again to try the tofu dish as in all honestly looked better and more filling.
Read moreThe vegan desserts they had was all puddings but many flavours and combinations. I had the pineapple and coconut pudding, it was amazing! Slight taste of vanilla too. Great atmosphere, and got busy in the late evening.
