good place - Edit
We went there in 2018, apparently hasn’t changed a lot. A great atmosphere and selection!

Ok - Edit
The food was nothing special and very different from the pictures shown on the menu. We had quang style noodles soup which was tasty, 2 jicama and tofu spring rolls which only tasted like rice paper and stuffed tofu which was ok. Rice is considered an extra.
Read moreWe asked for napkins and they brought the tissues which we had to pay, not really nice (and also not environment friendly). Would not come back.
Cons: Expensive, Nothing special

Worth a visit - Edit
Whilst not your average establishment and is ‘pricey’ for some—their menu is elaborate. You will definitely find something to suit your taste.
Read moreMy reason for 4 stars is simple — a rat running through the restaurant does dampen the experience, but you’ll get used to it across Vietnam 🇻🇳
Don’t let that stop you, if you have the case (not much for most people) do check it out.

Good quality - Edit
Enjoyed my dish. I would recommend to go, you can tell there’s quality food and a nice seating area, inside and outside. Takes card. On the expense side.

Great portions, not the best service - Edit
It was pretty expensive for the quality of the food, but still it was good and it had great portion sizes. Some of the staff speaks good English, but the service wasn't up to the price point of the restaurant.

Maybe the biggest menu I encountered in HCM. A little more pricey than most places but still cheap. The menu is ridiculous

The smell in the restaurant is not pleasant. The menu is expansive with many options but was not impressed given all the raving reviews.

Good Food in nice setting - Edit
Went here a couple of times on a recent trip to HCMC. Great vegan options and homemade sodas. Large menu with pictures. It’s not on the main street but instead up a little side alley.

Value for money - Edit
Great food and always consistent this is my third visit in 4 years and the quality of the food has never changed. This is a mid priced Restaurant and deserves $$ not $$& in the ratings as this is 1/2 the price of another famous restaurant in Saigon. The decor is great, atmosphere is buzzing but can be a bit too much if you want a quieter experience.

Great little find - Edit
Discovered this restaurant while walking to Notre Dame cathedral. Don’t be put off by the “fine dining” as it’s great food in a nice restaurant. I chose to sit outside and I’m glad I did. Nice view with a great lunch. I especially loved the fresh lemonade. Tons of options made it difficult to decide but that’s always a good thing. 😊

Worst restaurant in Vietnam - Edit
Terrible service. We ordered 2 main dishes and a starter. For some reason they served us one of the main dish first. We had to wait 45 minutes for the starter and the second main dish to come. No apologies from the staff who seemed to think it's normal practice. The food wasn't great neither. Worst restaurant experience in Vietnam

Are you sure? Many staff are very young and they work long hours. Since they don't speak English well, they might have been shy to tell you that something went wrong. I have been eating there often and yes, it happens that dishes arrive too late, but the food is so good...

Great place, great food! - Edit
The restaurant is not easily visible as the entrance is inside the alley. Do look out for the signboard hanging on 2nd storey. Walked through the alley and took a short flight of stairs, we reached this nice and cosy restaurant. Menu is descriptive and the pictures help loads! We ordered 2x rice rolls. cracker with mushroom, curry mushroom and 2 fresh coconuts, total 360k. Food is fresh and tasty. Service is good. Overall, its value for money!

So many options and very affordable - Edit
The restaurant itself was very clean and seemed to attract the locals. The menu was extensive with almost too many options! We ordered 7 dishes between two as we couldn't narrow down what we wanted.

Huge selection, decent price - Edit
Tons of veggie and vegan options with pictures giving you a clear idea what you'll be getting. We were a party of 3 who had appetisers and mains and shared everything. We struggled to decide as there was so much choice. Quick service and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend!

Fine dining at a reasonable price - Edit
Posh restaurant on 1st floor of building, slightly hard to find but there are signs outside. Extensive menu with lots of appetisers and mains. My first choice for appetiser: veggie pate was not available so had the Taro rice balls-which were okay but quite dry. We also ordered a mushroom dish with rice crackers which was delish. . For mains we had Seitan with chilli , and aubergine (eggplant) hotpot. Both were good but there was way too much Seitan for me! Good value for money for nice restaurant, but pricier than most local places in Saigon.

Lots of choices - Edit
The menu is extensive, staff told us everything is vegan on menu. The serving sizes are quite generous so best to go with group to try few dishes. Good service and nice drinks, a couple of the dishes were hit and miss (fried spring rolls and curry) but overall very good food and very tasty food. You will be spoilt for choice here. Its not as cheap as some of the other places around Saigon but it is a proper restaurant and not expensive by any stretch.

Favourite Saigon Vegan - Edit
The food at Bong Sung is fresh, delicious and generous. Consistently excellent food and drinks, lovely setting. Great opportunity to eat vegan options of Vietnamese dishes that are not accessible to vegetarians/ vegans. The use of mushrooom and tofu is so delicious. Minimal amounts of wheat or gluten substitutes used. Favourite dishes are the Mi Quang noodles and the mushroom/ herb appetiser dish with the rice cracker, there is a photo on the menu and it is one of the most ordered dishes on the menu. Great atmosphere and really friendly service, this is one of my very favourite places to eat 💙

Some lovely flavours and great vegan options. Had a lovey last supper in Vietnam here. Drinks were great, curry could have been better with rice not bread. Pho was good but fresh rolls let it down. Staff were friendly.
