Es gibt ein veganes Frühstück, man kann sich auch ein Frühstück zusammen stellen. Es gibt auch ein veganes Croissant. Es gibt Marmeladen und Hummus-Sorten, allerdings keinen Nuss-Schoko-Aufstrich.

had dinner with friends here. my falafel bowl was SO good!! every component was rich in taste! absolutely loved it!

drinks are also nice (highly enjoyed the sea buckthorn).

Wir haben mit einer kleinen Gruppe dort gefrühstückt. Jeder ist auf der Karte fündig geworden - vom Flexitarier bis zur Veganerin. Es gibt zwar nur eine vegane Frühstücksoption, aber diese war sehr lecker mit verschiedenen Aufstrichen (Hummus, Gemüse, Peanutbutter, Marmelade), guten Brötchen, Aufschnitt, Tofu und Obst. Mir persönlich hat ein wenig Gemüse für die Brötchen gefehlt (Tomate, Gurke).

I really like this place. It has a great atmosphere and you will always be treated friendly. The food is fresh and tasty.
Read moreHowever I think the café wants to appeal to a younger clientele and from a student's point it is pretty expensive. Another point is a pretty small variety of vegan food. The salty options are okay but there is for example only one vegan cake and it has always been the same kind in the last three years.
The place could be a five star happy cow occasion, if the owners just changed a few things.

Had one vegan breakfast option which we took. The coffee was good, overall the price was normal for this kind of café. Had some nice bigger tables which would be good for groups.

I went to zurück zum glück with my omnivore father for Sunday lunch. Both of us enjoyed our meals, the food was fresh and the staff was friendly. The service took a little while, but it was a busy day, so that is understandable. The only minus is the small variety of vegan options. Besides the vegan breakfast option, there were two soups, two salads and one potato meal (which I had). Veg options are clearly marked and some of the meals are offered as a full and half a serving. I had trouble finishing the full one, but if you are really hungry, this is your option.

"Zurueck zum Glueck" (German for "Return to Happiness") is a good example how the vegan movement has taken up momentum in the last years.
Read moreWhile it has always been targeted on organic food and was catering to a young clientele, some years ago, it was very hard to find vegan items on the menu and there were only a few token vegetarian options. The restaurant has been run by two sisters who studied "Oecotrophologie" (a German study that is more or less a mixture of nutrition and running a restaurant) for some years, and it has been famous for the nice place to hang out, the location, the nice terrace, the friendly staff and the cosy decoration.
Now, they do offer several vegan options (other than salads, although they also have those), a vegan breakfast (they are famous as a breakfast place), a vegan burger and some vegetarian options, and they even clearly mark them on the menu. All the coffee specialties are also available in soymilk varieties.
I liked their burger, and the soup. The salad with mint cous-cous tasted interesting, but for me mint did not harmonize perfectly with the salad. Try to go for their breakfast on a weekend, it is definitely one of the nicer places to hang out in Hannover.
