European

Founded in April 2010, the owner is a woman from Sarajevo who has created her own cooking style. Vegetarian food with vegan options upon request. There is a small salad bar, and buffet when more diners are expected. The place looks classy with several tables in front of the restaurant. No smoking inside. Large parties should make reservations. Worst vegan restaurant ever

I went there twice, first time a friend of mine and me went there for my birthday, nobody else was in the "restaurant". We also couldn´t finish the food. It wasn´t tasty at all! Second time (they can always have a second chance) it was even worse! We had to through the food away. Again :-( Only 5 minutes by foot there is Past and Future which is great!

Cons: food, smell, atmosphere

Hmmmmmm

This place is quite hard to review, but I'll try to be objective.

First the place itself: there's probably seating for about 75 people here, but we were the only ones. In the description it says it's a classy looking place. This is very far from the truth. It looks really dated, and the numerous decorations are shabby, kitsch and amateurish. It definately is a very personal style, but one which might be off-puting to some people. Others might find it hilariously weird and exciting (like me).

The food: I think there were not many vegan things, so we just ordered what the owner recommended. It was a LOT of food. All on one huge plate. Lots of potatoes, vegetables, tofu, pineapple and some couscous burgers. The burgers were very nice, the potatoes were good, the vegetables were very, very soft and the tofu and eggplant were a bit bland. It was boring, somewhat uninspired and amateurish. Though it was warm and filled me up good.

Service: the service was super friendly, fast and efficient. Top.

Overall: This place seems really to be stuck in the 70ies. Food culture has evolved a lot since, and people might find they can cook better at home. It's a bit hard to justify paying for this kind of food if you're not a tourist. Yet if you're very hungry or looking for a very unique experience you might want to visit here.

Pros: Great service, Extremely weird decor

Cons: Boring food

A real treat for the hungry vegetarian

This is a fantastic restaurant with wonderful, unusual veggie food. Unlike the usual veggie fare, which tends to be focused on the health-conscious consumer, the friendly and enthusiastic owner here gives large portions of vegetables, sauteed potatoes and mains such as breadcrumbed aubergine or tofu. I visited the restaurant twice: the first time I had the tofu cordon bleu, which was very tasty, followed by banana fritters in a sweet sauce. The second time, two of us shared a mighty platter which had tofu steaks, aubergine, fried pineapple and some kind of grain burger, served with huge quantities of vegetables and potatoes. A very tasty vegan torte with cherries, pineapple and other fruit was the dessert. All main courses come with a self-serve salad bar with a varied selection of tasty salad combinations. All-in-all this is a gem of a restaurant and can be heartily recommended -- but go when you are hungry! Well worth the 10-minute walk from central Cologne.

Pros: Very friendly, Unusual veggie food, Good value

Cons: No cons!

Phew Phew Phew....

Hmmm....where do i beginn....

I was there for lunchtime at 12 o'clock and i was the only customer. Ok, don't read anything into it!
It's an older restaurant in a battered neighborhood of cologne. Inside it's furnished a little bit corny and you can see that the eatery is already a few years old.
OK, the owner is very nice and friendly! She really wants you to feel happy and comfortable at her place and offers you everything she can give; as much salad at the salad-bar (it's a good range there) as you want. She also asks always how you like the meals and if everything is alright! I really have to say that! She does everything she is able to do and you can feel it, that she has a "heart and soul" for her job/eatery!

But if only would the food be good as her kindness....
The menu is quite long so i was in pleasant anticipation! So i ordered the "Tofu-Cordon-Bleu"....I got hunk of simply roasted gently tofu and it came with potatoes. On the one hand it tasted like nothing, on the other hand it was to salty and to thick.

Go there if you want to meet a really nice owner who does everything for her little eatery, but don't expect a delicious feast.

Pros: Friendly Service, Good Service

Cons: Expensive, Not that yummy

Reletaively expensive, but worth splashing out for

I thought this was a very nice little place, in a part of Koln that I otherwise wouldn't have seen. It was designed in a rather idiosyncratic manner, and was completely empty from the point when we turned up to the point when we left, which concerned me a little at first - but the food!

We had to ask specifically for vegan options, as everything on the menu seemed to come with a creamy sauce, but this was no hassle and was readily agreed to. The food was quite expensive, at €12.50 for the tofu steak, but the portion sizes were utterly enormous - there was no way we were going home hungry. The steak (actually more like three separate steaks) came in an excellent peppery tomato sauce, with fried potatoes, and we could take as much as we liked from the salad buffet (which, apart from the dressings, was entirely vegan) - not that there was much room for more food!

despite the quiet atmosphere, the owner was a lovely and very enthusiastic woman, obviously passionate about her food and confident in her ability to serve us something we'd enjoy, and I would certainly go back if I found yself in Koln again.
