ALL BAGELS VEGAN-Please train your staff - Edit
I ordered the lox bagel that was advertised outside, and asked the staff which of the bagels are vegan. She said none of them, only the topping (with a lot of confidence), despite all of them being labeled vegan on the menu. It left me quite confused, but: ALL THE BAGELS ARE VEGAN

Good bagel and coffee - Edit
Very limited bagel options for vegans and they are also gluten free (still yummy just a bit smaller than the typical). I got the plain bagel with the scallion tofu cream cheese and it was good. I also got a latte that was very good.

Bagels with gluten are vegan - Edit
The menu explains that their bagels are vegan. There is a “vegan and gluten-free” section as well. They have 3 vegan tofu cream cheese options. They have plant milk for a fee.

Tasty and fast - Edit
Versus past reviews the staff seemed to know what was vegan and what wasn’t when I went in (eg the latkes are not vegan. Where I’m from this is a less common food and I needed to ask). There were a few cream cheese vegan options including two off menu they offered me. I came here almost every morning on my nyc trip as it was around the corner from my hotel. Would recommend for a quick breakfast stop

I’ve confirmed that their bagels are vegan! Not just the gluten free ones in that helps! Obviously avoid any that are egg bagels.

The tofu scallion bagel was nice, however, the tofu cream was very liquid and dripping out of the bagel a lot. There was ablong que when we arrived.

What you’d expect from an NYC bagel place. Crowded and delicious. They have 3 tofu spreads, I got an everything bagel with scallion tofu cream cheese and red onions.

Disappointing - Edit
The plain bagel and the everything bagel are listed as being vegan and gluten-free. The plain bagel was sold out, and I don't like the onion taste in the everything bagel. I asked if there were any other vegan bagels, and the person behind the counter said, "Gluten-free"? They didn't seem to understand the difference between vegan and gluten-free. I was referred to someone else, who reassured me that none of their bagels have any eggs or dairy in them, so I ordered a whole-wheat bagel. I forgot to ask about honey. I should have just left.
Read moreAlso, the place was filthy. It was close to closing time, but there was not a single table that had a clean surface. I'm attaching photos of the trash scattered about. Is it only because I'm not from New York that I find this disturbing? Is this what New Yorkers find acceptable these days? I really expected better: a cleaner place, more vegan options, and better informed staff.

Yummy bagels, great coffee - Edit
I panicked eating my bagel thinking it must be real cheese, highly recommend! Three options of tofu smear -plain, scallion and vegetable. Friendly staff, plant based milks (almond and soya) available and syrups which are dairy free. Lots of seating, very casual setting. Medium coffee and bagel cost me around $13 with tip.
Read morePros: Almond and soya milk, dairy free syrups, Tofu smear tastes so much like cream cheese, Inexpensive
Cons: Not tons of variety

Tofu cream cheese yum, bagel ehh - Edit
Their vegan bagels are also gluten free & come in two varieties, plain and everything. As someone who doesn’t need gluten free options I was bummed I didn’t really get the bagel experience. However, the tofu cream cheese was amazing!! I had the scallion vegetable option. My bagel with cream cheese was about $8.

Warm fresh bagels - Edit
There are a bunch of places in NYC that offer iconic NYC bagels that are as yummy, warm, and fresh as they are lacking in much nutrition. A bunch of these places offer vegan shmears like hummus, tofu spreads, and jelly . Most of these bagel places are not listed on Happy Cow; for some reason, Zucker's Bagels is.

Pros: Warm and fresh and yummy bagels., a few vegan spreads, a few places to sit
Cons: not very healthy, not that many vegan offerings, a lot of great vegan-friendly places nearby.

Hey! I know it’s been awhile since you wrote this review but do you know if any of their bagels are actually vegan? Online it’s says the gluten free bagels are vegan but I’m going to get a regular bagel, not gluten-free. The reviews on here aren’t very clear.

NY Bagels are usually always vegan unless they are egg bagels. In contrast, Montreal bagels use honey. However, I confess that I never checked Zuckers specifically, I just assumed. Did I assume too much? Please tell me if you find out differently.
