Good for a chain - Edit
No nonsense Italian chain food , not loads of choice but it’s a chain so didn’t expect anything else

Comida rica, servicio lento - Edit

Nice Italian - Edit
Very similar to all the other Italians in the city (Ask, Pizza Express etc) but good quality. Not as many vegan pizzas as Pizza Express, but the Margherita was good. They have a zillionaire's shortbread which I didn't have a chance to try but will go back for!

Cons: They couldn't open the accessible entrance, (with the lift) which is pretty terrible!

Good choices - Edit
Enjoyed our time at Zizzi. In the heart of the York car-free area. We found it easy to get vegan meals and the staff was caring. Risotto was nice and creamy without dairy and the lasagna had a great blend of flavors.

One of the better Italian chains - Edit
There's a sperarate vegan menu with fair amount of options: a couple of pizzas; a few pasta dishes; a delicious "rainbow" lasagne that I had which didn't contain any vegan cheese, which was refreshing; a new risotto which sounded nice. Might be nice to see a calzone and some sort of salad bowl. There's some vegan sides, a few starters and 1 very nice dessert: a "Zillionaire's" tart, although it'd would've been better with some vegan ice cream, as it was a little dry. There was also the standard sorbets, but it would be nice to see a few more vegan desserts. The atmosphere was nice, service a little slow but staff were helpful, definitely recommend booking as they were having to turn walk-ins away (6pm on a Sunday). The location is ideal if you want to be close to the station. Overall would recommend.

Good staff and multiple options - Edit
Really nice and friendly staff, and multiple vegan options. However, it is a chain restaurant and the majority of dishes are not vegan friendly.

Just ok - Edit
When I came here there was a lot of uncertainty about which was vegan and which wasn’t. The menu and online menu had conflicting information. A staff member cleared it up but couldn’t help feeling awkward.
Read morePros: Food was nice, just like any other Zizzi. , Student discount during week days.

Nice and Zizzi Does it - Edit
Zizzi never disappoints and tastes even better with a 30% voucher code. As creatures of habit when it comes to Zizzi we had the vegan margherita with extra mushrooms on a rustica base at £9.95 and the trusty old spag pomodoro with extra olives at £7.95. Both very tasty and thoroughly appreciated with a carafe of vegan wine.

Fantastic food - Edit
They have a great vegan menu. I had vegan bruschetta and a vegan pizza with artichoke, spinach and pine nuts. The pizza was quite big, I took half home in a box. Great food and service!

Generous amount of cheese :) - Edit
You can get 40% off the pizzas if you go with someone who has an NUS card, so that's what I did (normally I find this place quite pricey). I do recommend getting more than 3 toppings - I think I narrowed my choices down to 6 eventually! But it all fit nicely and worked very well. There's a lot of vegan cheese on these pizzas which often isn't the case, so this is definitely a plus!
Read moreI also had the nectarini dessert which I found a bit sour. Would recommend the ice cream on its own.
