Never a vegan’s first choice - Edit
Went to use up some old tesco clubcard vouchers. The one vegan pizza available when we went was basically a white pizza with mushrooms, pickled onions & chillis on garlic bread. It was pretty decent but very weird. Courgette fries were dead nice. Cocktail was way too sweet.

Still great - Edit
I hadn't been to Zizzi's since my early vegan days when I used to go there with Omni friends. The other day we ended up here after finding Pho closed and we had a lovely time. They have lots of vegan options (the lentil ragu is as good as it was 7years ago) and even had some Veganuary specials. One of those was a meatless meatball calzone which was devoured by my husband. Our toddler throughly enjoyed her fries and we had a chocolate honeycomb something cake too (too sweet for me but the others approved). Everything came with little stickers saying "I'm vegan, baby" which we proudly stuck onto our jumpers.

Great Pizza - Edit
I don't remember the last time I had vegan pizza in a restaurant, so happy to have found this place. The main menu has a few vegan items, if you want the full vegan menu you have to ask for it. There are 3 choices of vegan pizzas, all similar, but all very delicious. I had the zucca, with pumpkin and balsamic caramelized onions, it was very, very tasty. I'm not always fond of faux-cheese, but this coconut-based one was perfect, very drippy and not stretchy like mozzarella... but it suited the pizza very well. The staff was very nice, the restaurant is big and can accommodate large groups. It's not the cheapest place to eat at, but the service and food is great and it's entirely worth it.

The Austro-Hungarian Empire - Edit
So it's on Leopold Square. Nearly two years since the introduction of their vegan menu, It's bigger and better than ever. However, as creatures of habit we went for the ever reliable spag pomodoro and the Margherita pizza. I asked for an additional topping of mushrooms on the pizza as well as the newly introduced smokey and chilli infused base. Definitely worth the extra quid. £5 worth of Tesco Clubcard vouchers cashed up to £20 online helped alleviate the physical fiscal contribution. A bottle of house white wine at £14.95 (vegan) accompanied a most satisfactory meal. Always good times at Zizzi.

Decent pizza and a few desserts - Edit
Not a wide variety for vegans but unlike some chains they do have vegan cheese which received an award from peta. Good price, but I do find their pizzas go cold quite quickly.

Improved menu - Edit
Not been to this branch before, even though it's in the centre of town. Vegan menu improved by a bruschetta, different pizza types and an amazing dessert which was really the pièce de résistance for me. Beautiful. The lentil pasta was enjoyable and the service was friendly if a little slow (although they were busy as snooker is in town). Would go back.

Separate vegan (and allergens) menu available on request - Edit
I love a separate menu, so much easier. Several starter and mains options. We visited last Monday and service was a little slow as it was quite busy, but not too bad. I had the pizza with vegan blue cheese artichokes and pine nuts - tremendous!
Read morePros: Separate vegan menu, Affordable prices, Good range of options
Cons: You have to ask for the menu, Tables are quite small, A bit chaotic at busy times
