Cozy eatery with a good selection of Vegetarian food - Edit
Had my lunch at the newly open Shu Vegetarian just located at next block to Zi Zai Vegetarian. I don't want to miss the good vegetarian prata from Zi Zai Vegetarian, so popped by and order as take away.

The prata that I ordered as takeaway together with the vegetarian curry sauce tasted just as good when I heat it up for my afternoon tea break.

Homey food - Edit
This is one of those places that both vegetarians and non-veg can enjoy their meals at daily. All dishes are cooked on the spot, and the quality is seldom compromised despite the Low prices. Even though my mom and my Brother and basically everyone I know recommend this place for their Hokkien mee (request for eggless if you’re a vegan) and Xing Zhou beehoon, I am more impressed and a complete sucker for their fish slice soup. The “fish” is our usual Chinese seaweed tofu skin fish, but what made me very happy is the amount and variety of vegetables in the dish. Instead of merely bok choy, the dish included very generous portions Chinese white cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, cauliflower and vegetarian fishballs, complete with a generous topping of seaweed. The one time where the new lady working there almost messed up my order by forgetting the seaweed, she came back with an entire bowl of shredded seaweed even before I noticed that the seaweed was gone. That service attitude was pretty cute :)

Delightful - Edit
Zi Zai is definitely the place to satisfy your hunger for comfort food, that is, if your comfort foods are zichar dishes
Read moreOne thing I found out from my visit is that the ‘fried rice’ on the menu is more than just plain fried rice - you can customise it and have options like Tom Yum fried rice, olive fried rice and so on. I didn’t know that!
In my opinion, they’re not the best stir fried carrot cake I’ve tried.

Pretty decent other than the tons of birds flocking around - Edit
My favorite dishes would be the clay pot fish soup, horfun, sin chew beehoon. Remember to opt out the eggs for the beehoon if you're a vegan and request for less oil!!
Read moreDo bring tissues just in case, and indoor seating is much more recommended.
Pros: Affordable , Variety of options to choose from
Cons: Cleanliness - tons of bird [censored] , Service - sometimes can be inefficient/slow, Oily food

Played customer! - Edit
I had been to this veg eatery a couple times, experience there has been ok. But it is yesterday night that they enraged me. The staff played me. I ordered a set meal to take-away as usual, this guy probably recognised me as a regular by now. After ordering, I was waiting as usual, just some distance away from him. Then 15mins passed, 30, 45.. I felt strange that people who ordered later than me had received their orders.. but I didnt think he would miss me, as I am kinda just in front of him, and I waited until there are no other people waiting (I stuck out there as a sore thumb!) There is no way anyone couldn't missed me. I finally went up, and asked what happened to my order, then he gave a fake surprised look at me that he overlooked it, and passed me the only packet thats on the table, which by the way, also stuck out like a sore thumb! There is no way they could've not noticed me, or the only packet lying on the table for SO FREAKING LONG! I just took it n left. On hindsight, I should've asked for the manager...

Good! - Edit
The place is a bit like coffee shop style. You can either have set meals or order stir fried. Rather typical Chinese food. Portion is slightly big (you can choose from small, medium and big portion) and good if you are to eat in big group. We have 5 adults and 2 children. Had a very satisfying (and a bit over eat, ordered too many dishes) meals at around SGD 70, including drinks.
