I've been to Zeitgest a few times now and it's always delicious. The drinks are great, and everything sweet is marvellous and for all tastes since they always have many options, and they change often.

The food and coffee are really great, the place is fresh, full of good energy and obviously run with great care, but if you're just a little bit lucky, you'll get to connect with the host - that's the real treat.

My husband and I had a delicious breakfast here today. We were greeted with kindness and felt so comfortable with the women that worked there. We chatted and got to know one another before deciding what to order for food. We even got recommendations from another women who worked there for where to find the vegan restaurants in Lyon, which was so helpful! We got a cappuccino and “the French vegan”. Honestly the best vegan food we’ve ever had!! So delicious, so flavorful and incredibly fresh! We will definiert be back 😊

Delicious Plant Based Brunch in Lyon - Edit
Zeitgeist was a welcome vegan dinning experience after a challenging stretch of travels with limited vegan options. We made reservations to dine for brunch and were greeted with warmth and kindness. The cafe is charming, lovely decor and tasty food. We participated in the brunch menu with included one savory dish, one sweet dish, a juice and coffee. Everything was tasty and the owner was very communicative and able to answer any questions we had about the menu. Overall enjoyed this experience and would highly recommend to fellow vegan travelers. Enjoy!

Bonus: some recent vegan cooking books were available to browse through.
In the end, we liked our food there and will most probably come back!

Nous avons testé le brunch. Les plats étaient délicieux. Les boissons sont excellentes et une mention spéciale pour le croissant aux oeufs brouillés. Le lieu est très sympa et cosy. Le staff est adorable. Nous y retournerons dès que possible ! Une très belle adresse vegan a Lyon qui en compte trop peu.

Modern, Cool and Incredible Vegan Café - Edit
When I heard that my friend was opening a vegan café in Lyon I was extremely excited. Luckily my trip through France was perfectly timed so that I could visit this amazing café just a few days after it had opened.
Read moreWhen I entered the café the first thing that struck me was how HUGE it was. I had expected seating for 10-16 people maybe, but there was space for around 50 people or something!
The interior design was modern and industrial with cool, bright lights. I really liked the vibe. The music was a mix of uplifting and funky indie and pop, which I think fit extremely well with the place and the time of day.
The menu had a lot of delicious things; coffee, different kinds of tea, cold drinks, smoothies, sweet food and savory food. There were also a bunch of pastries, cookies and cake at the counter. I had the The French Vegan (15€) which included scrambled tofu, vegan bacon, a vegan croissant and a salad. To drink I had a kettle of Rooibos Capetown. After The French Vegan I had a sugar crêpe (5€) with jam (2€).
First of all, the vegan bacon - WOW! It was the best vegan bacon I've ever had in my life. The second best thing was the crêpe; it was beautifully presented, the consistency was perfect and the jam was delicious. Everything else was amazing as well. The only thing I missed was some spring onion or chives in the scrambled tofu, but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea.
It was eye-opening for me to hear how much work has gone into making this café a reality, and how much work is still going into it. If you want to support the vegan scene and have amazing, sustainable vegan food and drinks in a cool setting - then you need to visit ZEITGEIST Café. I know I'll for sure be coming back the next time I'm in Lyon. :)
