Full Indian Vegan Menu On Ocean Road South Shields - Edit
We love they have a full vegan menu for their delicious vegan Indian food along with vegan wines & beers. Everywhere in South Shields should do this.
Read moreThere are eggless bahjis, poppadoms, lots of starters, mains & sides. I'm sure other dishes can be made vegan.
Staff are great & helpful.
Pros: Fully labelled vegan menu, Vegan wines & beers, Try the vegan thali
Cons: Could do with vegan flavoured rice dishes

Good offerings - Edit
There's a fully separate vegan section with everything clearly labelled. Been before but this time, I had a vegan selection.

Four’s Company - Edit
Nice place on the world famous “curry mile” that is Ocean Road. Splendid interior and decor. The separate vegan menu is contained in the main menu book you are presented with on arrival at your seat. It contains numerous unique dishes that I was eager to try. The Dhal Puri starter was good but it didn’t contain any of the expected lentil masala mixture. We then opted for an okra dish (Karahi Bhindi) and a lentil dish (Pach Dhal). Nothing outstanding but both fine. I was really pleased to give Zeera a whirl and sample the vegan menu.

Wide range of vegan options - Edit
Separate vegan menu with five starters and six mains. It was all pretty tasty, but the best starter was the Veg Frankie roll which had a good spicy hit. Mains were all good particularly the Pach Dhal. Waiter understood the whole vegan thing so there were no discussions about ghee. Will definitely go back again

Bland food - Edit
The staff were lovely but unfortunately the food was very bland. We tried a few different dishes between us and it was flavourless and really not the best.

Spice up your life - Edit
As a curry lover and frequent visitor to Ocean Road, I was looking forward to sampling Zeeras vegan menu. I have now visited twice and my second visit was much better then the first, where the food was bland and the service poor. On our first visit the onion bhajis were very enjoyable but awful on the second visit, whilst the singara (samosas) just needed a bit more spice, as did the dhal puri on our second visit. The Kadai Sabzi and Achari Baigan mains also lacked depth in flavour and spice though and were bland. However, it was the complete opposite on our second visit where both the adraki gobi and pach dhal were very flavoursome and perfectly spiced. Hmmm... explain that one. Worth visiting for vegan menu and dining experience but there are many nearby restaurants who cater for vegans if you ask for no ghee.

Vegan Menu - Edit
I’ve been here 3 or 4 times. The Thali is a great way to get a variety of tasty meals. The eggless onion bhaji is lovely and crisp and not greasy like I was used to in my non vegan days. Very friendly staff and the service was great.

There is a separate vegan menu which has lots of variety. I had the thali which was incredibly tasty. Great value for money. I would have left 5 stars but the app does not allow it.

Delicious Vegan Curry! - Edit
I often get takeouts from here as it is local and has a great dedicated vegan menu (including a wide range of starters and vegan wines)! Staff are great, friendly and knowledgeable! I always get the 'karahi bhindi' as I am a huge fan of okra and it's always fresh and full of flavour. I was informed by staff that the vegan curries are made from scratch when ordered which is reassuring. I also get popadoms, chips and boiled rice. Unfortunately the other rice dishes are cooked with ghee so not vegan (e.g. garlic pilau). I find that the takeout curry portions are smaller in comparison to other Indian takeouts but this maybe because the vegan dishes are made seperately. But overall this place is great for vegans and the restaurant itself is lovely and has a great atmosphere. Deffo recommend for fellow vegan curry addicts!!

Vegan Indian Food In South Shields - Edit
We really love Vegan Indian Food and there are is so much choice in Ocean Road.
Read moreSadly in the past, we learnt that our Indian Food was not vegan from other Indian restaurants, despite asking for no dairy egg etc.
Thankfully Zeera has created a full Vegan Menu to make life easier and the staff are very clued up about veganism.
Our meal was perfect with plenty of choices.
Everywhere should have a Vegan Menu like this.
Pros: Great Vegan Food, Helpful staff
