Leckeres lokales Essen in gemütlicher Atmosphäre

Perfetta cena bosniaca

Diverse ottime scelte vegan, ricette tradizionali delle famiglie bosniache. Verdura di stagione prese da contadini locali. Personale e luogo molto accoglienti. Riservare prima di andare.

Yum

The place was a bit hard to find because of two different names
But look for a yellow building
The opening times are rather weird 2-4pm and then in the evening
We came in the evening but we still got a table
The place is very cozy and the food is delicious
The seasonal vegetable soup was a bit too parsnip’y but the humus with nettle buns were yummy, tho a bit to oily
I came another day to get the baklava but they didn’t have it only vegan apple pie
The only thing that annoyed me was the fact that you can only pay in BAM

Pros: labeled vegan food, Interior

Cons: No card payment , A bit oily

Fantastic

My first experience of traditional Bosnian food with a Nettle twist did not disappoint… clearly marked menu of lovingly prepared dishes, many of which include nettles, a well known under appreciated superfood, are both tasty and filling. In fact do not underestimate the portion size… my usual 2 starters and a main approach left me stuffed and very happy.

Pros: Clearly marked traditional menu, Nettles!, Lovely staff

Cons: Cash only

The owner is super nice and passionate about her job. She can advise customers.
Vegan dishes are clearly marked on the menu as well as any possible allergens.
I highly recommend the nettle fritters.

Pros: Plenty of vegan options, Nice atmosphere

Cons: Not for spontaneous visits, better to book

Tasty food and good experience

We tried to just turn up to this place but it was full so luckily managed to book for the next day.
Had a starter to share, wine and a main each which was a great portion size.
Really unique and flavoursome dishes.

I forgot to take a photo of the main as I was too in a rush to eat it!

Pros: Understanding of vegan items , Clearly labelled menu

Culinary and cultural experience

I can only say good things about this place. I tried the vegan sahan and it was absolutely delicious. Best thing I have eaten in years. This topped with the amazing staff made of my my meal here a true cultural experience. We exchanged views on food, culture, traditions and even got recommendations for a great book. If in Sarajevo, I wouldn't miss this place for the world!

Pros: Food, Staff

Cons: No card payments

Amazing local food

The owner is and old lady who clearly is the best cook in town, my friend had a vegetarian moussaka that was delicious and I had the vegan Saha wich was dolmas and some rice balls with Nettle pesto. Soul food. I didn’t get the chance to try the vegan desserts as there weren’t available but I would definanatey come again. The place is very cozy and tastefully decorated and the service was really quick

Pros: Local food, Lively atmosphere

Cons: Not that many vegan options

Our favorite place in Sarajevo

This was my husband's and my favorite place in Sarajevo. I loved that the theme of the place was centered around one plant and the different ways that the plant was used to highlight each dish. The nettle bread in particular was really good! We shared a few dishes, including a few of the salads, which were amazing! We even had the dessert (we are not dessert people typically) and were so impressed! Everything is marked on the menu, which is nice. Please try to nettle pesto and nettle bread!

Not the best for vegans

They have couple of options for vegans but the food is very oily and missing spices. Also I am not convinced that everything marked as vegan is indeed vegan.

Wish I could give it 5 stars!

Absolutely delicious food on offer here. It's a really cosy traditional Bosnian restaurant nestled away. If you sit downstairs, you have maybe two other tables around you. The menu is clearly marked with coloured circles to indicate what is vegetarian and / or vegan for example. I wanted to try as much as I could eat and can't recommend enough the vegan purple cabbage stew option which included sultanas and strawberries (?!) and into which I dipped nettle bread (a novel one for me). I also had a Bosnian coffee (vibes of Turkish style) tried nettle juice (delicious) and the baklava was decadent. My server changed midway through, with the second one speaking English very well, but even with the former it wasn't a problem re communication.

This is a must-do if you want vegan Bosnian food or to see how good a nettle can be - I had no idea!

Amazing! Must try

We were so lucky to find this place. The food was fantastic and the owner/staff was so friendly.
He greeted us in English and when he heard I was trying to communicate I’m Bosnian, he was kind enough to teach me a few useful phrases too.

There are a few vegan options and desserts and the menu is really clear. The atmosphere is also nice - nice decor and relaxing music.

The Baklava may have had honey on. I wasn’t 100% sure, but it’s not a big deal for me anyway. If you want to avoid honey, perhaps check with them when ordering.

I wish we could return!

Great food, big choice of vegan and vegetarian food

Tasty food served on beautiful traditional plates, friendly staff and cheap prices. You have big choice even as vegan. Restaurant itself is really cute and you can listen there to traditional Bosnian music, what makes the "traditional food experience" even better😄

Pros: Clearly labeled vegan and vegetarian options

Delicious and vegan conscious

The restaurant is super cute and has filling, tasty dishes. The owner is vegan conscious so the menu always has veg and vegan options clearly marked. There's also always more than one vegan option which I appreciate.

Great vegan friendly tavern

Such a nice cozy little tavern with home cooked Bosnian food with a twist - everything is made with nettle! The owner doesn't speak English but we made it work, no problems getting a fully vegan meal.

Vegan options are clearly labeled on the menu, and there are quite a few to choose from. Don't miss the savory nettle donuts with hummus!! The hummus wasn't anything to write home about but the donuts were AMAZING and so affordable. I believe it was 3.5 km for a giant pile of donuts.

Everything else we got was quite tasty as well. It was a bit oily but restaurant food usually is so that didn't bother us - it was high quality olive oil anyway.

Really nice place for vegans in Sarajevo.

Pros: Lots of marked vegan options, Yummy homemade food

Confusing

Ordered from the vego and vegan menu and was served a plate of rice with veal skewers. At first I thought, this seitan looks and smells a lot like meat. And alas... The owner told me he spoke german so we communicated in that language because his English wasn’t good, but even with pointing at the menu, i was unable to have it understood that I wanted a vegan meal. Very confusing and disappointing as the menu looked quite nice! I left hungry and went somewhere else.

Dear Toby101,

Please accept sincerest apologies for this mistake. New waiter probably confused the order, even though the segment of vegan/vegetarian menu is clearly separated from the rest of the menu and I cannot understand how this had happened. For what its worth, we are so sorry for dissatisfying experience you've had, especially because at any point we have at least 5-6 veg options to choose from. I will relay your comment to our staff hoping this does not happen ever again.

Very cozy restaurant!

Great food, great live music, great staff, cheap prices! The food is very tasty and in the menu there is a part dedicated to vegetarian food, so you cannot get wrong; the waitress is very nice in explaining you the dishes. You can bring your non-veg friends, they will be happy! I also liked the position, out of the mess of the old town but just behind the cathedral, so very close to the center
