Nice little cafe with loads of tasty vegan food - Edit
Quite small though, but seating outside available (it was raining when we visited but on the third walk past a couple of seats in the window were free so we thought we'd check it out).

All vegan cafe on the lovely main street in beautiful Totnes. We arrived about half an hour before closing so most of the main dishes had sold out. There was a sign that mentioned vegan soft serve, alas this is not ‘Mr Whippy’ style but in tubs and they only had vanilla flavour. I also took away a slice of their banana bread for breakfast the next day. Both were just ok but I would love to go back and try the salads or lasagne next time. Paid parking nearby.

Zappa’s is a real find. A wide range of pies and tarts with wholemeal pastry, several cakes, everything we tried was excellent. They use organic ingredients too. A range of interesting and delicious salads.

Were recommended this place so had high hopes.
Read moreHowever, the food was reheated in a microwave and while the bowl the tomato and olive tart was in was boiling, the tart itself was tepid.
The salad was a little sad too.
The staff were really not interested in customer service.
So disappointing I didn't take any pics...
Two stars as the chocolate milkshake was good.

We had a great lunch here. The falafel salad plate has a good variety of ingredients and three great tasting, and warm, falafels. The small salad bowl was just enough for a quick lunch. The smoothies are made to order and very tasty, not weak and watered down like some places do. The carrot cake was delicious and the coffees are the best in Totnes!

We had high hopes for this cafe as the reviews are good. However, we left disappointed. Service with poor with just one member of staff unable to cope with serving, making drinks and preparing food. The salads didn’t taste freshly made and had far too many flavours going on. The smoothie bowl wasn’t topped with fresh banana as stated and was a bowl of defrosted smoothie. My husband had finished his lasagne by the time my daughters smoothie bowl arrived.

Had a delicious vegan croissant and flat white here, as well as a really tasty smoothie bowl. The cafe is cosy and centrally located, everything is vegan and the staff are lovely. It is also reasonably priced. #Veganuary

This place is such a good find. We’ve been a couple of times and the food is always really good, I particularly recommend the lasagne, curry and the cakes which are the some of the best I’ve ever tried vegan or otherwise. The prices are very reasonable too. Highly recommend.

Sunday mornings can be tricky when it comes to finding establishments open, fortunately Zappa's doesn't disappoint.

This cafe is a real gem easily accessible on the high street of Totnes. The food is of excellent quality with a variety of options including croissants for breakfast! The staff are very warm, friendly and welcoming. There is also outside seating just in front of the church. An amazing atmosphere with superb, reasonably priced high quality food. What more could you want. Highly recommend it so please visit to enjoy the experience.

The best so far in my Research - Edit
First time was enough for us to love the place. Fair prices, avocado toast prepared at the moment. The most delicious cakes no using refined sugar. At the table we have only one option to sweet the coffee and it was muscovado sugar. Attentio to detail. Real vegans.

I had their organic salad bowl with their delicious salad dressing. I drooled at their organic cakes and promised to get an organic smoothie next visit. And also try the croissant and coffee. Oh, I will be back! Highly recommended!

This is my new favourite place in the town with great decor. I had a decaf oat latte with samosa; both were excellent and were served with a smile which is always a plus. They have a variety of sweet and savoury bites (all vegan), which I can't wait to try.

What an absolute pleasure it was to find this completely plant based cafe. The food is all freshly made, so tasty and reasonably priced. Lovely salad bar, delicious lasagne and sublime penang curry. Juices made to order and great tasting coffee, what more could you want?! CAKE! Ridiculously delicious brownie !
