Old sch bihun with crispy lobak

Very tasty that reminds me of the taste that I ate when I was a child. This stall will be moving to Tiong Bahru market on 26th June2023

Pros: Many choices of crispy lobak., Like the Chili very much

Cons: Higher price compared to other fry bihun

Old school beehoon

Vegan old-school beehoon on a Saturday morning to kick-start the weekend!

I love everything about this beehoon, don’t be fooled by the standard side dishes. It is indeed quite hard to find such classic taste in Singapore. & I adore the kopitiam as well, so suitable for the auntie soul in me.

Pros: Old school beehoon - hidden gem, Value for money, Friendly staff

Lovely flavour but all fried

Inside Loos Hainese curry rice shop, this stall is open all week except Sunday and Tuesday until 1.30 pm. Good veg food offered, noodles are the staple plus some home cooked vegan options: mushroom roll, vegan schnitzel made from mushroom and mock meat chunks. (Not sure if they have a different price for Singaporeans, non Singaporeans- not sure if this type of pricing is practiced here in Singapore as the price was higher both times I have been than what other customers were charged.) The price was also higher than similar food at vegetarian stalls the Tiong Bahru market across the road, but the flavour is more pronounced and they use more mushroom. Unfortunately there is very little fresh vegetable on offer, only cabbage put on the plate like garnish and it can be oily. It would be so good if these ‘economical’ vegan places could offer more vegetables rather than fried white/ brown food. I would pay more for vegetables and I would eat here more regularly instead of only when there are no other option. Here’s hoping.

Pros: All vegan, Good flavour

Cons: All fried/ oily foods, Very little vegetable on offer
