Great Food - Edit
Really nice food.
Read moreParticularly recommended the Tofu Bao and Katsu Fries.
Gyoza very good also.
Only thing I would say is the bao stuck to the paper they were served on, which was a bit annoying, hence the star knocked off.
Otherwise, all good!

Street food with drinks - Edit
We were stopping at brew York for drinks and realised how good the vegan food options were. There were lots of to choose from but we picked the tofu bao - the bread was super soft and worked texturally compared to the crispy tofu. The toppings of pickled ginger and sauce worked really well with it.
Read moreWe also got the katsu loaded fries which had a great katsu sauce and the vegan dumplings.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Tasty food, Good beer

Several vegan options - Edit
Visited on a Friday night when it was busy. I had the Tofu Katsu curry which was lovely when it arrived. That was enough for me I didn't quite finish it. Lots of tables upstairs, downstairs and outside - get there early if you want to sit outside. I had booked a table but no sign of any staff or reservation on arrival we found an empty table though.
Read moreSeveral vegan options in each section of the menu including puddings.
Pros: Choice of more than one vegan option.
Cons: Took quite a while to get the food from ordering. , Paying for service upfront what if it was rubbish

Tap Room Tales - Edit
Based at the fantastic Brew York tap room. We had a couple of their craft beers in the sun soaked beer garden and admired the food that was being brought out. I could definitely see myself coming back and grabbing a lunch here one day.
Read moreOn another visit with an omni friend we had a couple of pints in the huge upstairs beer hall and tap room. I ordered the tofu katsu curry and we shared the salt and pepper fries. Tasty but basic. Not somewhere I’d be eager to return for food but the beer is some of the best you’ll find in the city.

YUZU you YUZU - Edit
If I want takeaway in York, 9/10 times I get YUZU. The vegan katsu curry is amazing and my usual choice along with the veg gyoza, and I recently tried the miso aubergine bao and tteokbokki in Brew York which were both super tasty - the tteokbokki is good if you're looking for something with a little kick. Brew York has a good atmosphere, lots of places to sit (although the likelihood is you'll be sharing a table with other people), very chilled out if you're looking for a casual get together with friends.
Read morePros: Really tasty food! , Vibey atmosphere , Generous portion sizes
Cons: Quite expensive , Tables aren't always the cleanest/tidiest

Would give it 5 starts, their bao buns are the best - Edit
The bao buns, katsu fries and ramen are vegan. The katsu is what converted me from being a katsu hater. The brew house also does a pub quizz every sunday which is good fun

Cross contamination - Edit
We ordered salt n pepper fries and endamme beans. The fries tasted lovely at first but we soon found a blob of meat in the bottom of the basket. Staff apologised quickly and refunded us, we sent the uneaten food back. We don’t know how it happened but they need to sort it out in the kitchen!

Decent - Edit
We were visiting Brew York and thought we'd try the food menu. We were pleasantly surprised as tap room fare can be hit-or-miss.
Read moreWe had the tofu bao bun (the other vegan / veggie options were sold out), edamame and katsu fries. Food arrived quickly and was really nice. The bao in particular were cracking.
The downsides were that a lot of the menu was sold out. The tap room was good, but we were in a bit of a dark corner. We moved tables, but the seat choices seemed to be that you were either sat too high or too low against the table. Top beer menu, though.
Definitely recommend, but be prepared to not get your first choice!

Delicious. - Edit
Loved the vegan miso ramen with udon instead of ramen noodles. The broth was hearty and tasty, the crispy tofu was delicious and had an amazingly smooth texture inside a crispy deep fried batter. It filled me up and got me satisfied.

Tasty vegan options! - Edit
Yuzu Street Food is located inside a beer hall, which has such a nice atmosphere; it's quite industrial with lights streaming across the ceiling, and plenty of benches or bars to sit on. There's a bar and then the stand where you order from. You can also take a seat, scan a QR code and order that way so it saves you queuing. I ended up going for the miso ramen with tofu (mild because I do not do well with spice). The coating on the tofu was nice and crispy and everything went really well together. My first time eating ramen and it was delicious. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. They do have a few other options though, so I would give something else a go next time. The mild sauce as well is really mild so that was a win for me. If you want something more spicy you can opt for that one.

It was a while ago I actually went. First time I wasn’t fussed (and wasn’t vegan) but going back as a vegan I was pleasantly surprised.

Delicious Asian food - Edit
Serves meat, but also has a range of vegan options. We had every single vegan option there was and they were all delicious. My sister-in-law and I both had the ramen with tofu (they'd run out of jackfruit), which was warming and tasty. My wife had the katsu curry, which was also filling and hot on a cold day. We shared the two vegan bao buns (Korean KFC and Japanese tofu), the vegan vegetable gyoza and fries loaded with vegan "duck". All were flavoursome, fresh and it ended up being about the right amount for three of us. I had a special beer - 'The things yuzu to me' by local brewery Brew York. It was a refreshing pale IPA with citrus hints and went well with the food. They were allergy aware and the whole place is nut free.

Lovely food - Edit
Loads of vegan options! Had the tofu bao bun, vegan chicken katsu curry and vegetable gyoza and they were all lovely. Only complaint is that they load sriracha on EVERYTHING! Fine if you love it, but I needed a bit of a break from the sauce every now and again!

Nice food - Edit
I had the katsu fries which were nice and the ramen which tasted fresh. Several clearly marked options. The bao buns are delicious, the Korean one is heavier and stronger tasting than the Japanese one (lighter) but both nice. One thing they could offer is ability to have less spicy so kids could join in. I ordered takeaway by going in and waiting which took a little time so order ahead using app. You can book and dine in. Busy especially on a weekend. In same building is axe throwing gallery for fledgling Vikings/maniacs. Across the street is The Block pizza place also, which usually has a couple of vegan options.
Read morePros: Central, Clearly marked items
Cons: Could do with less spicy kids options., Not fully vegan, would be cooler and send a better message if so
