Great pastries and Mexican style food. I had the 3 tacos and everything was delicious and for dessert I had a strawberry cream turnover. *Note: new owners and no longer fully vegan as of November 2023.

Pretty good, but i’m mixed - Edit
[3.7/5]
Read moreThis restaurant is super chic, and authentic at the same time. Half of it is super well designed and decorated, and the other half has pieces of printer paper taped to a menu to show changed prices.
This aside, how is the food? It’s ok, the chimichanga had a strange taste to it, and was not great, especially for close to $20. The taco I had, although super expensive was really really good.
It’s great this restaurant is fully vegan, but I have mixed feelings on it. I wish the whole restaurant aesthetic could be designed very well, vs right now, it is trying to be two restaurants at the same time. An upscale retro diner, and a “hole in the wall” mexican restaurant, depending on which side you are standing on.
My other issue is, the prices are insanely insanely high, especially for the taste. The presentation is beautiful, the do a great job with that, but for the portion, the flavor is not there, at least for the chimichanga.
It’s worth a shot for sure, but be prepared to pay around $20 an entrée, which may be hit or miss depending on what you order.
I really want this restaurant to be successful, as it’s one of the first, truly authentic mexican food / vegan restaurants i’ve been to in Utah. There are just some factors keeping be from really LOVING it, but I wish I did, because aspects of it are great. I wish them the best to evolve, and maybe if i’m feeling spendy, i’ll give them another shot, because the tacos were pretty good

Impressive Food - Edit
Stumbled across Yumz and tried birria tacos for the first time. So good! The restaurant atmosphere embodies a “back in the day” diner with some video games and posters. Wish the quantities were larger for the price paid, but still worth it if you’re in the area.

Amazing Mexican Food - Edit
We got tri-tip tacos and a giant stuffed quesadilla. Both meals were so good and the portions were big enough to make a whole second meal. The flavors were amazing. The quesadilla was like nothing I've had before. Definitely worth a try!

Real donut - Edit
Get tired of cake donuts pretending to be a donut so came here. Maple bar was great. Glazed also good. Did not try food yet but the donuts alone justify 5 stars.

Dessert and Savory - Edit
We needed clarification of the menu and called with questions. Lynne was very helpful, friendly and upbeat! We ordered the signature birra platter with grilled taco filled with jackfruit/mushroom and cheese, served with a consommé, onion rings, esquites Mexican street corn and yellow cake with cookie butter served with tres leches sauce.
Read moreDipping the taco into the consommé was not only tasty, but fun. Onion rings were extra crispy with a cornmeal texture breading. Personally I was hoping for the dredged flour with a softer onion inside. The esquites preparation was a surprise to me. Even though I read the description before ordering, I was expecting corn kernels with cheese sprinkled on top VS being a creamed corn. The esquites were rich and creamy and seemed a decadent savory treat. Then to finish the meal… a beautiful yellow cake with a Carmel sauce coating, topped with meringue and then soaked in the tres leches sauce 😋❤️😳!!!

This place is amazing. There’s not only a huge selection of vegan Mexican food but also many cakes, smoothies, drinks, and even chocolate.
Read moreI’ve tried the birria tacos, burritos, and churro cake. I thought the cheesy fried tortilla on the tacos was overly fried, so I’ll probably try a regular tortilla next time. Would recommend!
Pros: Huge selection of options, Great casual indoor dining setting , Friendly service

Best in Utah - Edit
I thought this place was fantastic. I shared a plate of carne asada nachos with my mom, fully loaded and so tasty. She took a burrito to go as well, and it was packaged very well. We bought 3 heavenly chocolate chip cookies and the most decadent, moist chocolate cake I have had in years! One bite and my mouth completely sealed around the chocolate flavor so intense and amazing. The restaurant was clean and so were the bathrooms. Very cute decoration. The owner is super nice and the staff could not be more pleasant! I will be going here again and again!

This is the place to be! - Edit
I visited salt lake city for a week for a business trip. I wish I had known this place was in the area sooner. On my way to the airport I stopped by to have really delicious tacos. Once I finished my tacos I went in for a second of tacos nearly missing my flight back to California. Totally worth stopping by and having some really good grub. I'd give this place an additional star because the staff is super nice and welcoming.
