Top quality international cuisine - Edit
This is one of those fancy restaurants where every dish has multiple flavours and textures interacting in creative ways. The waiting staff were very helpful in allowing us to get 5 items with each dish for easier splitting amongst 5 people. We had dumplings, "money bag" pastry parcels, cauliflower pasta, mushrooms and even more dishes to share. I couldn't fault anything

Come here for birthdays and events! - Edit
Five stars! Yulli’s consistently has the most DELICIOUS vegan food! Portions are large and flavours are so creative and interesting. Yullis also make their own beers. So good your non vegan friends will love coming here. Only downside is that the interior is a bit crammed. Tables are very close together and some parts are not well lit. Steps to the upstairs area are also very steep

Interesting and delicious fancy looking food - Edit
Lots of great options. The Brussel sprouts and dumplings are amazing. The desserts are really nice as well. I’d avoid the pizza and the smoked eggplant, everything else we have tried we have loved.

One of our best meals on our trip - Edit
We went around Australia for a few weeks and Yullis was our first meal and definitely one of the best. We both agreed the sticky toffee pudding was the best dessert we’ve ever had (wish the portion size was a bit bigger but that’s just because it was so amazing).
Read moreWe also had the money bags, and the lettuce wraps and both were fantastic. Prices were high but overall worth it.
Service was also excellent. Hope to return someday!

disappointing - Edit
both the food and the service were super disappointing, which was really upsetting as we were really looking forward to dining here. Was also very expensive and the food lacked flavour. In addition we emailed explaining our disappointment and it’s been over two weeks and we never heard back.

Disappointing experience! - Edit
All vegan menu which we were really excited to try, we are both backpackers and had heard this was the best vegan to try in Sydney, so this was our big expense this month! We thought the food tasted good (money parcels and salad) but food was honestly luke warm and the table next to us got our first course (which specified nuts on the side). This wasn’t a huge deal as it wasn’t an allergy but the service we received wasn’t fantastic. Food was delivered to the table with no explanation and we never once got checked back on, this was a bit on issue as my wine glass was cracked and my friends had a lipstick stain. Felt very expensive for the service and quality we received. We were booked for 8:30, seated for 8:45 and felt compelled to leave at 10:15 when waitress started stacking tables and sweeping around our feet when we were finishing wine (and never asked if we wanted desserts when we wanted the lava cake which wasn’t on the banquet!), made us feel so unwelcome! We are honestly so sorry to leave this review of a small vegan place but felt like a big rip off for the experience we received and how much our bill was😔

Got the banquet menu, the presentation was amazing, however the food was quite bland with no real taste! The coconut money bags and the desserts were the saving grace! Was very disappointed as I feel like it had so much potential

An on 'high street' version of Yulli's Brews, without the industrial back drop. (See previous review (Yulli's Brews)).

Tasty vegan options - Edit
This was our second visit. The food at Yulli’s was very good with an interesting and varied menu. The two smaller plates that we ordered were a bit bland, but the larger plates were delicious! I particularly enjoyed the cauliflower pappardelle and baked brussels. It has a great atmosphere, although it was quite loud and difficult to hear conversation with a couple of large tables, when we visited. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Fair - Edit
Only ordered the crispy tofu salad. Tofu itself was well fried, crispy on the outside, silken on the inside. But there’s no sauce to go with tofu. The salad sauce mixed with papaya was average. It’s good to try it once.

We had a nice dinner at Yullis. We had the tasting menu and it’s was very filling and fresh. We opted against the dessert in the tasting menu and picked our own because we wanted other options. It’s was all pretty delicious.

Disappointing - Edit
The best thing about this place is that it is all-vegan, which I thoroughly appreciate.
Read moreUnfortunately the food just didn’t meet our expectations. It wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t great. Small serves (the “large” plates were a small-average size) and expensive. We left hungry and paid around $80 for two excluding drinks. I do understand Sydney is expensive, but for $40pp I expect to not leave hungry.
The tables weren’t comfortable, but I get they’re going for a “trendy” vibe.
Will need some improvement for me to return. Disappointing because I love supporting all vegan restaurants!

Amazing flavours - Edit
We had a late booking as we didn’t want to sit outside. Luckily as it was pouring. I had an espresso martini and my partner had a mocktail. Both drinks were nice with the martini beautifully presented. We ordered two plates zucchini flowers and the eggplant dish. I was delighted with the flavours of both. They were creative but also tasty. I’ve really missed eating zucchini flowers so this was a real treat. The restaurant was really busy and we didn’t get time to order dessert. Next time in Sydney I’ll make sure to book a table earlier

Another seasoned veg restaurant comes into its own - Edit
I was surprised to find that this place was open for dinner on New Year’s Day, and even more surprised I was able to make a last-minute booking. It’s been a few years since I’d last been to Yulli’s, but those glass-topped tables were instantly familiar. We ordered the San Choy Bow, the pizza and the crispy tofu. The bow was delicious and presented in four small portions, each with its own lettuce leaf: so much better than the usual messy, indivisible ones served at mantle restaurants (including this one historically if memory serves). The pizza was delicious and cheesy. The tofu was accompanied by a green papaya salad, which was a bit sweet for me (and looking back at my previous review I see I ate this last time and said the same thing 😆). Despite a satisfying and filling dinner we pushed ahead with dessert, sharing the plum and persimmon crumble, which was absolutely divine with its ice cream and biscuit crumb accompaniment. From once being just average (as I wrote in two previous reviews in 2013 and 2017), Yulli’s has really come into its own, and now that it’s all-vegan it’s a place I’ll look forward to coming back to on my next visit to Sydney.

Impressing non-vegans too - Edit
I went here for the first time years ago back when before either of us (myself or the venue!) was vegan. At the time their vegetarian based menu impressed (the money bags are so good!), and now their vegan menu is even better.

A great place to bring non-vegans to, and it was the first place we visited after lockdown restrictions eased.
Thank you!
