Goede plek om te eten. Er is heel veel keuze. Alles wat op de kaart als vegetarisch is aangegeven kun je vegan bestellen, je krijgt dan vegan kaas.
Read moreDaarnaast ook een hele duidelijke allergenenkaart, mocht je (andere) allergieën hebben.
Tip van de serveerster: mocht je van te voren weten dat je hier gaat eten, geef dan bij het reserveren door dat je veganist bent. Zo kunnen ze er goed voor zorgen dat er voldoende vegan kaas en vegan guacamole is. Het wordt namelijk steeds populairder.

Echt heerlijk gegeten. Er was heel veel keus, dit in tegenstelling tot veel restaurants waar maar je maar uit een of twee gerechten kunt kiezen.

Als veganist kun je je wel eens onwelkom voelen in een restaurant omdat sommige restaurants het ''lastig'' vinden. Dit was totaaaal niet het geval bij Yucatan! Personeel kwam meteen aan tafel: jullie zijn Vegan he? Dit en dit hebben we voor jullie en hier is de allergenen kaart. We voelden ons zeer welkom.

Al met al een super avond gehad. Personeel uitstekend, eten uitstekend, superleuk aangekleed restaurant met Mexicaanse sfeer. Echt geweldig! Bedankt 🎉

I have never visited a mexican restaurant before, and this was a good first experience.

I ordered the tostada pueblo and it was a great vegetarian choice. It was loaded with toppings and it was so much that I almost couldn't finish it. The restaurant is also nicely decorated and it gives a cozy vibe.
Would definitely recommend and if I'm ever in Leeuwarden again, I would certainly go back here.

Pro-active attitude - Edit
No vegan options on the menu, but when I asked to leave out the cheese in a dish, the waitress offered to replace the cheese with vegan cheese. She also brought me vegan quacemole after warning me that the standard quacemole contains diary. She had a very pro-active attitude and helped me find a vegan option for dessert.

Beware their standard guacamole is made with dairy cream! They will, however, happily make you a very tasty vegan one. (So my experience much different here from Layra)
Read moreMost vegetarian options on the menu can be made vegan or they will do you a personalised burrito. I opted for the burrito, which was tasty and humongous. Very filling. Would have been perfect though if they could have invested in some vegan cheese, however i do realise demand for this is probably not big enough yet.
If this place was in London, where vegans are in general much better catered for, it would get 3 stars of me. However, given the dire service i had in other places in Leeuwarden / Friesland (including one cafe with no other suitable options telling me i could not 'just' have a portion of chips as they only serve those as a side with their burgers 😒) Yucatan gets maximum stars.

Very nice restaurant. There aren't many vegan options but the staff is very friendly and will help you. I had a vegetarian burrito with no cheese or sour cream. It was tasty and filling! :) They make guacamole fresh every night so if you get there late you might miss it.
