Ok

We had lunch for take away and it was ok. We pod arround 6$ for 3 meals, which all were good, but nothing special. The curry had just a few very big pieces of veggies and a few mushrooms inside. The Banh Mi was good.

Unique flavor

Amongst all the variety of food in Siem Reap, a few stand out and I suggest that u make this place a must stop. Local-asian cuisine but done with a very home style cooking flavor. It's a small inside dining area but there is plenty space outside to also sit. Almost no English but menu has pictures and descriptions in English. Good value as well - give it a try!

AMAZING flavors!

Don't miss this place!!! Staff isn't really cheerful but you're going to eat good food! We've been travelling for 10months and it was the BEST curry I've ever eaten the flavors were perfectly balanced!!! We also tried noodle soup. We asked it without coriander but there were some in it but it was anyway excellent!!

Pros: BEST curry EVER

Cons: Staff don't speak well English

Meh… food was ok

Food here was ok. Found it difficult to decide as the menu doesn’t really tell you much about the dishes. Each time I ordered I felt disappointed in what I ended up getting and thought the dish wasn’t what I expected. They did have some dried mushroom mock meat for sale that I picked up and made back at my apartment that was amazing and only $1. I would go there just to pick up the mock meat and make it back home, but if you are traveling I’d skip this place. Plenty of better options around SR

Simply the best....in Siem Reap!

The food in this vegetarian restaurant is honestly one of the best I´ve ever eaten in Southeast Asia. Everything what we tried was so flavoursome, supertasty and also beautiful !
They use a lot of different vegetables and herbs (raw in some dishes) and mock meat which is almost wierdly authentic. It comes in generous portions and as a really good value for money - 1,5 - 9USD, from great soup to family meal.
Until now we´ve had Beef stew and Bread stew (delicious baguette), Braised "pork organs", Noodle soup, Sweet´n´sour fish and a giant portion of fresh spring rolls, everything was amazing.
Restaurant has nice indoor space with wooden tables and decorations and some outdoor seating also. Staff is nice and one lady speaks some English.
Just one thing - if you are vegan, ask or double check the pictures - they serve egg with many dishes, usually fried, so you can skip it.
Go there, it´s excellent !

Pros: Excellent food!, Nice staff, nice place, Good value for money

Cons: Serves eggs - but it´s vegetarian, not vegan place

Local delight

Delicious and affordable meal with a very Cambodian local feeling. Ate our delicious meal next to monks completely by coincidence. Would recommend the bread curry.

Pros: Staff understands what vegan is

Okay

A bit pricey for Cambodia in general (not for Siem Reap) The staff wasnt helpful to teach how to eat the Khmer crepe so I ended up doing like I would do in Vietnam.

Wifi.
The tofu is a bit yellowish so I would ask the staff twice if it contains eggs. And soft tofu.

Delicious & Nutritious

What a little gem. The Khmer stew was one of the best stews I've ever had. I ordered spring rolls as a side but this could have easily been a meal in itself. I ended up taking half of them home for later. Good quality food and friendly staff. Everything on the menu is vegetarian and very good value for money.

Plene vegetara !

Agrabla etoso, kvieta.

Pros: multe da elektoj, tute senbesta vianda

Amazing!!

The khmer curry was so delicious and the place wasn't overpriced like most of the vegetarian/vegan places in Siem Reap. Also had the fresh spring rolls as a take out and there were a lot of them and they were also very good! Would definitely recommend going.

Pros: good value, delicious food , helpful staff

They opened the restaurant just for us!

We were trying to desperately find a vegan place to eat at, since it was getting quite late. A tuk tuk driver brought us there just as the staff was leaving, but they opened it again just for us! It is really an oasis in there, beautifully decorated and lovely wooden carvings everywhere, extremely homely.

The food was so very good. We ate there for all of our meals and we tried almost all the dishes, and they were all exremely good. Our fav was the lok lak and the khmer vegetable stew. My boyfriend said it was the best vegan food he ever had in his life, which is something as he is an annoying critic hard to please person!

The staff was really friendly and helpful in our requests to make certain dishes vegan (every item in the menu can be made vegan), understood english very well and was very attentive and accomodating. Eg. Asking us if we wanted hot or cold tea (which is free by the way) 10/10 place, staff and food, its a MUST go.

Pros: Big portions, Many vegan options, Amazing tasting tasting food

Must visit for all vegetarians!

I'm from India - where as a vegetarian, you're spoilt for choice. Coming to Cambodia and watching meat cooked at practically every corner/restaurant left me as wide-eyed as the people who had blank faces and a WHY in response to me telling them I was vegetarian.
So my delight at discovering Yuan Sheng knew no bounds.
Their extensive menu meant I could go there for all meals several days in a row.
Freshly cooked, tasty food in large portions for very reasonable prices and an exceptional staff made going the extra bit to this restaurant well worth it!
I tried several restaurants on the Happycow list - but this was my absolute favourite! 5 stars.

An oasis well worth a visit

We have had lunch at the Yuan Sheng several times already, and were always very satisfied with the dishes, the service and the overall atmosphere at this premise.

The food is made freshly for every dish, it is very tasty and looks appetizing. As pointed out by others before the dishes are Chinese-Khmer style and are served in generous portions. Some dishes come along with mock meat, some with egg noodles or eggs, but we have not found any non-vegetarian dish. Hence, it is a vegetarian - not only veg-friendly - restaurant, as a matter of fact.

The rates are reasonable, in particular compared with those at the tourist places downtown.

The staff is very friendly and attentive, speaks english well and makes the stay a pleasure.

The overall atmosphere is pleasant, as the premise, including kitchen and restrooms, is clean and bright as wells as quiet and relaxing.

Although the restaurant is located a bit away from old town, don't miss the chance to visit. It is only a two- to three-dollar ride with the tuk-tuk from Pub Street. It is situated about 100 meters off Highway 6 in southern direction on the East side of the road.

Summing up, we highly recommend the Yuan Sheng Vegetable Restaurant.

Pros: Delicious food for reasonable rates, Friendly and attentive staff, Clean and bright atmosphere

Cons: None

another great option for vegans in Siem Reap

Love this place.

Have tried a few dishes but so far the standout dish is 'curry with bread' which is a rich curry soup with mock meat, potatoes and carrots served with fresh baguette.

The mock prawns are interesting and the passion fruit juice was very refreshing!

Some of the noodle dishes use egg noodles so order carefully, they are happy to swap for non egg noodles when required.

Friendly and helpful staff can guide you through the extensive menu to make sure you avoid egg and dairy products.

Well worth a visit!

Pros: friendly, tasty, price
