Best Nepalese/Indian Food in Town

Yet is a small, clean family owned sit-down Nepalese/Indian restaurant. They offer both indoor and outdoor dining. They have a ton of vegetarian options on their menu and many vegan options too. They have a separate lunch menu if you’re unsure of what to order and want to try a little bit of everything.

My favorite dishes here are the Mis-Mas Vegetables (Vegan), Nepalese Samosas (Vegan), Paneer Tikka Masala (Vegetarian), Vegetable MoMos (Vegetarian) and Vegetable Biryani (Vegetarian), and Naan (Vegan upon request). I typically ask for the curries to be prepared spicy as the food here is generally on the milder side. Everything is packed with flavor and the portion is plentiful; there’s even some to take home as leftovers. Food is a bit on the pricey side. However, the entrees do come with rice which is rare for Indian restaurants nowadays. I would definitely recommend Yeti to satisfy your Indian food cravings.

Would be a 5/5 if it was allowed

Great staff, marked vegan entrees, delicious. Chana Masala DELICIOUS. Samosas AMAZING. 10/10. Plenty of vegan options where it doesn’t feel like I need to go searching for something. Amazing

Amazing Options with Excellent Staff

So many dishes at Yeti are either vegan or can be made vegan, everything I’ve tried is delicious, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable which makes Yeti a great eating-out option for vegans in Davis. Possibly the best restaurant for vegans in Davis, though that bar is low.

Great chana masala

The chana masala is delicious and the rice has a lovely aroma and taste. Nice outdoor seating and friendly staff.

Yeti is Vegan Friendly

This locally owned Nepalese restaurant changed their menu several years ago so that almost everything on the vegetarian menu can be made vegan by request. They also reprinted their menus and marked the items that are vegan. Their cooking is delicious and there are some dishes that are particularly Nepali flavored, such as chana pindi, the momos, and mis-mas vegetable. You need to ask about the chutneys and breads. Their staff understands what vegan means and they are very helpful. If you are looking for catering, they do a terrific buffet.

Favorite place in town

This was one of my favorite places to eat when i lived in Davis. The staff are very friendly and the food is delicious.

Indian Food WIN

So, they have a lot of vegan options, but they aren't labeled on the menu. That being said, the staff knew exactly what was vegan and pointed everything out to me and answered all of my questions with no judgement or negativity. The Naan they serve is also vegan - which is a huge bonus. It's a smaller restaurant in downtown Davis. Sitting on the outside patio next to a fountain made it super cute.

Pros: Knowledgable staff, Great vegan options, Adorable outdoor seating

Cons: Vegan options not labeled on menu, Busier when school's in session

Vegan Yum

Had the mushroom matar (excellent!), which they can make vegan upon request as they now make both a vegan (no dairy) and vegetarian onion gravy that serves as the base for many dishes. They also can make any of the breads vegan upon request, so had some of that too. We sat outdoors in their patio area and enjoyed a nice evening meal. The thali is a great deal and comes with a lentil dahl that can be made vegan upon request. The rice pudding dessert was the only non-vegan option in the thali but staff was helpful in pointing this out as I ordered. Will be back again soon. Has a lot of variety and staff is really good about helping to navigate menu based upon preferences.

Pros: many vegan options, great staff, outdoor seating option

Cons: no vegan desserts (yet)

Wish there was more vegan

COOL Cuisine has gone into Yeti several times. The staff is very nice. While they have a vegetarian section, they only have about 3 items that are vegan. They told us they "pre-make" their spice mix at the beginning of each day using ghee and did not express willingness to cook vegetarian items from scratch using oil or margerine. We asked them if they would consider changing how they do this, and they expressed interest in being more vegan friendly, but the last time we were there, nothing had changed. It is a good place if you are vegetarian. They have outside seating, the staff is very friendly and the food (the vegan food we did taste) was yummy.

Pros: Good for vegetarians, Food tastes good, friendly staff

Cons: Not as many vegan options (or flexibility) as we'd, After a year of asking, nothing has changed.
