Expensive and less fresh - Edit
There are many Yes! markets in DC, and in general, I will go to them if stuck in a bind, but I do not appreciate them as much as other local markets because the price is too high and the quality of produce is inconsistent. I stopped going to this Yes! because of the price.
Read moreYou can find many items you will need as a veg*n, like toiletries, cereals/ grains, nut butters/ vegan nondairy products, breads, frozen foods, frozen veggies/ fruits, fresh produce, prepared foods and snacks. However, I never feel that the price is worth it when I know I can last another day or so before making my way to another more convenient location.
The conclusion: great if you are in a bind and need veg*n items that do not support the big box grocery stores. Not so great if you are a raw foodie trying to maximize your nutrients in fresh produce at a reasonable price.
Pros: Processed vegan food plentiful, Bulk bins, Parking
Cons: Freshness of produce, Price

One of the better Yes!es - Edit
For those not in the know, Yes! Market is a popular DC region health[ier] food store. *Most of* the produce is organic, higher quality than box stores like Giant or Safeway. Vitamins, organic wines, vegetarian staples, some Hugh-end meats and cheeses, bulk foods, etc.
Read moreThis also means more expensive
Some Yes!es are better than others. This is one of the best.
Large bulk aisle, loose tea, great coconut-milk frozen treats options, they stock a variety of flatbreads, Twin Oaks tofu (a commune) and don't try to fudge rotten produce in the old-stuff bin (like some places, ahem, georgia ave).
This is main grocer, and the
only one in this neighborhood. Has parking if you're a driver. Not cramped either.
Pros: good selection of staples, Mostly organic, Old-produce pack bargains
Cons: sales are otherwise infrequent, big-name stuff (like boca) cheaper at Giant, Few organic cheeses
