Epic food, Cute setting

We stumbled across Yes Lah entirely by accident while walking to West Didsbury to find somewhere to eat. We were drawn in by very clearly marked vegan options and the opportunity to try a new cuisine we hadn't tried and I'm so glad we did. It's a very cute little restaurant with a fun, colourful vibe and the staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered the vegan char siu sandwich and the oat Lugaw. The fake pork belly in the sandwich was great and really had that fatty, rich, treatiness I was hoping for. The oat Lugaw was probably the standout for me, I wasn't sure what to expect having never eaten it before but it had such a divine mix of flavours and was a hearty comfort food. They also have a range of vegan sweet treats we didn't get to try that looked great, we will definitely be going back to eat our way around the menu!

Insane vegan options

Their vegan pork belly is incredible! Lots of choices - rice dishes, noodle dishes, Bao Buns, crispy potatoes loaded either jack fruit. I’m working my way around the menu and I’ve never had a bad dish.
Plus they always have vegan bakes.
The Vegan Char Sui Pork Belly Sandwich is great - textures and flavours in every mouthful.

Pros: Incredible food , Independent , Dog friendly

Local legends

Yes Lah is an independent deli run by two women who really care about food. They properly consider their vegan options and half their menu is either vegan or can be made vegan - I really love their vegan pork, which they make in house from the unused crusts of the bread they make their sandwiches from!
Yes Lah also run private supper clubs and cookery classes. It's a small venue so they will book up fast.

Access: step-free access from the street. Customer bathroom quite small so maybe inaccessible to power chair users. Dog friendly (although the neighbourhood cat is decidedly not).
