Family-run Yeminite restaurant with good vegan choices - Edit
We visited Yemen Heaven for dinner recently. It's a lovely, family-run restaurant operating out of what was once a run-down old pub on Walmgate. The menu isn't extensive but there is a good range of vegan options. The mezze section is the real star of the show and includes familiar Middle Eastern dishes such as hummus, baba ganoush, falafel, fattoush and tabboula. If you like things spicy, I'd particularly recommend ordering the bisbas which is something I've never tried before and which turned out to be a delicous blend of tomatoes, coriander, garlic and chilli. There are also a couple of vegan manousha available, which are flatbreads topped with veggies that are a bit like pizzas. Sadly, the only vegan main dish is fool - a fava bean stew - but you if you order lots of the aforementioned dishes you'll have plenty to eat so that isn't really an issue. The only downside is that it is a little pricey but the quality was high so I didn't mind paying that little bit extra. We spend £60 between two of us and left full & happy.

You'd be a Fool not to try this. - Edit
There were a wide range of vegan options though no specials or desserts. The Fool (a spicy fava bean tagine) came in a stone dish, was super tasty and filling.

Excellent unusual vegan choices - Edit
We sat out in the courtyard on a balmy evening and it was delightful. Vegan options clearly identified.
