Mahahual don't have fully vegan restaurants or even vegetarian, but this one really takes care of us!

Mahahual doesn’t have many vegan options and so the fact that Yaya has vegan written on their menu is a great sign. Service was slow (beach town Mexico style) but the food was good. The soy chorizo tacos were tasty, nothing super special, but totally worth it and I would order again. We had the avocado “fries” too which were delicious.

This place seems to be one of the only ones having vegan options on the menu. We both had the burger - it comes with tasty fries, but they are served with mayo, that’s not vegan (I asked the waitress). There’s no sauce inside the burger, so it tasted a bit bland.

Good option in a city with few choices - Edit
Had the soyrizo tacos. Gave me the choice of lettuce or tortilla. Was pretty good. Expensive but not as crazy expensive as other places.

In not-very-vegan Mahahual they have some good options. They charged too much on my credit card but refunded without problem upon request.

This is a beach club so you can eat either on the beach or just across the malecón in the open air restaurant. The soy chorizo tacos are served with really fresh lettuce wraps instead of tortillas, which was interesting. Tasty and flavorful with a great view. Food came out quickly, but service was a bit lackadaisical, which Just seems to be the case almost everywhere in this town. It’s not tragic just be prepared to wait a bit especially if the beach is crowded.

Beyond Meat and Vegan Chorizo - Edit
We’re pleasantly surprised to find this place serves plant proteins. Be advised, though. The chef goofed our order and made regular burgers. Our waiter was mortified and ran them back, returning with two massive vegan burgers and fries. Great view too.
