Vegan options were yummy! - Edit
We had a variety of choices from them including Ginger noodles, vegan delight, and a sweet tofu. The sweet tofu was delicious! All was really good. It was nice to have options and different flavors. The sweet tofu would be too much to have alone but was great in rotation with the vegan delight. The cauliflower tempora had a great flavor!

Add us to the long list of cheesecake lovers ;-) - Edit
Update: if the king oyster scallops show up on the specials menu, I highly recommend trying them. They were so good! I love their innovative approach and this continues to be a favorite restaurant.
Read morePrevious: This is one of our favorite places. One of the waitresses will even let us know if the vegan cheese is in so we can get the mushroom shamu which is absolutely to die for. We also really enjoy the Thali platters, which you can request vegan, and they are so good. It always includes the daal, which is absolutely perfect, and the pickled radish. Yum! It's got the perfect amount of lots of different things so you can try them. Sometimes it comes with a little cheesecake flight, and sometimes it's the rice with raisins. Both are excellent. The cauliflower pakora is usually part of the Thali platter.
I was so excited to discover this place. The woman on the phone was very helpful and when I asked for an appetizer suggestion, she mentioned the cauliflower pakora, which is an instant favorite in this house. We also had the vegan delight and the mango coconut cheesecake. Everything was wonderful and my husband has since told friends of his that it is clear these folks care about food. I'm so glad it's nearby.

A must visit - Edit
I love Yak N Yeti, I would eat here every day if I could. The food is delicious, the staff are always so super friendly, and the prices are more than fair. I miss the New Cumberland location, but making the trip to the Carlisle location is SO worth it!

Customizable - Edit
Got to try some unique flavor profiles and they have no problem customizing your order. My wife got the sample platter and there were some awesome items with tons of flavor. Staff was very friendly.

Five stars!!! - Edit
Love this place!! Excellent and creative food. There are regularly new dishes to choose from as specials - just check their Instagram or Facebook for the latest. Top shelf service. You won’t go wrong here. Vegan items are all labeled but even those that aren’t you can always inquire if they are able to accommodate - if possible they will!! They are extremely vegan friendly!

A favorite - Edit
Whether you choose the excellent buffet (always plenty of clearly marked vegan choices) or order from the menu, you will be pleased. Try the Wai Wai app for something different...if you like things hot and spicy! The pharshi (pumpkin with Nepalese spices) is delicious and unique. Just save room for the home made vegan cheese cake!

Delicious! A warm & friendly place! - Edit
I am a regular customer here. Justine and her brother run a very nice restaurant. They are both very friendly and take the time to talk to everyone. They know their regular customers by name. Their other waitstaff employee is a pleasant person.
Read moreYak & Yeti's buffet is extremely good, as are their vegan menu items. The food, whether on the buffet or off the menu, is freshly-prepared and well-presented. The mo-mo platter with vegan dumplings is awesome! About half the buffet dishes are vegan and can be served over rice. While the rice is tasty, I'm not thrilled about having rice everytime time I go there. I'd prefer whole wheat chapathi or roti as a second grain option on the buffet. How about serving amaranth, millet, or quinoa to mix it up? Other reviewers have raved about the vegan cheeze cake. I have not tried it yet and look forward to it! Consider making a vegan version of kheer.
Staff do not know how to cook okra. They don't cook it long enough, and the result is a slimy and tasteless vegetable. I've tried to discuss this matter with them and encouraged them to cook their okra until it is completely cooked. Okra that is "done" is not slimy. To date, they have not taken my friendly advice. This is my only disappointment throughout my entire experience at this restaurant.
Yak & Yeti II has booths, tables, as well as traditional low tables with cushions. If you sit at the low tables, take your shoes off before entering that seating area.
Also, this restaurant is BYOB. If you go there for lunch, they have a "frequent flier" card where you can get a free buffet lunch after about five or six buffet purchases.
Pros: Warm & friendly proprietors, Buffet items & BYOB, Traditional seating w/cushions
Cons: Serve other grain options besides rice!, Pricing is not always transparent., Okra is not cooked thoroughly.

The vegan cheesecake though! - Edit
Our friends who live in Carlisle brought us to lunch at their favorite spot, and it’s easy to see why they love it so much. We wish we had a spot this good and unique at home! Lunch buffet was exemplary; many clearly labeled vegan options, flavorful, fresh, and clean. But as outstanding as the meal was...you guys, the vegan cheesecake. A MUST-have. Blew our minds. Two flavors (of course we had both - strawberry cardamom and blueberry lemon - blueberry even had a GF crust), cashew-based, agave-sweetened, made in-house by the lovely sister of the owners, who was also our generous hostess. Beautiful ambiance (gorgeous hand-painted decor), excellent service, memorable food. Wish we lived closer; we’d be there every other day!

Delicious lunch buffet with plenty of options - Edit
Happy Cow won’t let me give 5 stars but the food is worthy of 5 stars along with the staff and atmosphere. There is a lot of options for vegans and vegetarians. I got the lunch buffet and it was plentiful and tasty. The spiced iced tea was delicious on this hot day.
