Yaafa - Edit
I didn’t have a great experience here. What was supposed to be “fast food” turned out to be a 30 minute wait for mediocre / flavorless food. To top it off, I ordered a falafel salad and received a falafel pita. I took one bite and actually threw away the whole thing, which is a rare thing for me to do.
Read moreI do have to say, it was very unfair to the sole employee working to be so understaffed. Yaafa need to properly staff their restaurant.

Delicious soya shawarma sandwich! - Edit
For 11 euro, I believe you get a sandwich, a drink, and then pita chips hummus/babaganoush. So first off, a very affordable meal (it is counter service). Second, vegan options are well-labeled, and the staff are happy to explain their menu.
Read moreMy food came out quick, and given I am a fan of vegan meat, I opted for the Tcha-cha-cha sandwich with vegan shawarma. Boy it was delicious! A little heavy on the raw red onion, but the shawarma and sauce and everything was delicious that I came back the next day for the same thing! The pita chips that came with my hummus side were…weird and not good. Felt like they had been in the fryer way too long. But they did the job to help me scoop the yummy hummus into my mouth. Drink was good too.
Overall a great experience, and I really appreciated being able to choose between falafel and a vegan meat option.
Pros: Vegan shawarma, Cheap, Quick service
Cons: Bad pita chips

Go for the chips - Edit
Staff lovely. Meal was fine, nothing special. It felt a little flavourless but still a decent vegan meal in a non vegan friendly town. Curry chips were divine.

Great falafel and hummus - Edit
They have a few vegan falafel pita or bowl options. There’s a menu option, which includes a pita or bowl, a side and a free refill drink. You can choose hummus with pita chips as a side, which was really good and a very big portion.

Better than my first time there - Edit
Initial review : "I went there on a public holiday because not many places were open in Lyon that day.
Read moreIt was ok. Falafels were pretty bland and the whole pita was not very tasteful. Everything tasted the same. I also had the fries with curry, a bit too salty."
This time I tried "L'original" combination as a salad, it was better than my first time, the veggies were very good, though the falafel are still bland to my taste.

Good value and service - Edit
I have eaten in the department of Lyon Confluence and got a box of salad, falafel and humos. It was fresh goods and tasted fine. They have vegan choices, but you just have to ask.
Read moreThe service was friendly and the service top notch. If you like the Rolling Stones, you may very well be lucky enough to hear it in the background. The owner is, like myself, a big fan.

Good falafel place - Edit
Yaafa seems to be a very popular place in Lyon city centre. They are vegetarian, with vegan options being labelled. I had the "original" falafel pita, which was good. They could maybe have some more vegan options.

Fair but it could be better - Edit
They have six options for mains in the menu (half of them are vegan by default). We had two of their pita wraps (the original, and the mango one) and the spicy potatoes.
Read moreThe portions were generous but they were too bland, which is not something you'd expect from this type of cuisine. So I was disappointed.
On the bright side, the prices were fair, the service was quick, and they work non-stop between lunch and dinner.
Pros: opening times, location, fast service
Cons: not all vegan, lacking flavour

Spoiled for choice - Edit
I had a hard time deciding which pita sandwich to have because all the vegan options looked so tasty! It’s one of my omnivorous friend’s favorite places for lunch, which speaks well for all their food. I ended up with a falafel sandwich with butternut hummus and roasted cauliflower, which was a really fun French twist. Everything also tasted really fresh. I watched the staff making the falafels behind the counter.

We had the origional and veggie feast- both clearly marked vegan. My omni partner loved the origional which wasnt dry at all and had great hummus. I loved the veggie feast and I normally dont like sweetcorn or carrots but it was so good! Unlimited ice tea or lemonade topped it off!

Read morePros: opciones veganas, falafel rico, cantidad razonable
Cons: olor a fritanga, fast food, nada "zero waste"
