No vegan options anymore

We were told the one lacklustre vegetarian option (burger) couldn’t even be made vegan.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Nothing vegan

Not bad

I had the vegan curry which wasn’t bad but lacked seasoning and it tasted oddly... powdery (guessing they just used lots of curry powder to make it). So... not bad, but not great either!

OK burger, great chips

The burger comes with toast instead of brioche bun, which was a bit weird. No sauce at all so quite dry. The patty was very tasty with chickpeas, sweet potato and peas. The chips were crispy, crunchy and fluffy inside!

Separate vegan menu

Had a lovely meal here, the main menu has a separate vegetarian section and they have a separate vegan menu with at the moment 2 starters, and 4 mains with several sides. The owner, who is vegetarian herself said she’s working on the desserts. She was extremely accommodating and friendly and very positive towards vegan food. I had the sweet potato and coconut curry which was delicious. The butternut squash and chickpea burger also sounded good too but I went for the curry! They actually did have Alpro chocolate and hazelnut ice cream available (not on the menu) which my son had on a waffle. The owner said she’s also sourcing some vegan wines. Great place, nice atmosphere. Would recommend booking at busy/popular times.

Pros: Good choice of dishes, Very accommodating , Lovely traditional pub near the castle

Cons: No vegan desserts on the menu (yet! 30/10/18), More starters would be good
