Good enough - Edit
Glad there was a few vegan options. The pasta was good (nothing to write home about) and the staff was nice. If you are in Guimaraes and vegan and want to have a meal that it’s not a sad salad, this place is good and you can choose between a few things

Great option in Guimarães - Edit
Full menu dedicated to vegetarians and vegans, including desserts. Cute place and staff was really nice. I ordered the Tofu a Brás and loved it, even though it needed a little extra salt. The dessert was just perfect! Loved the overall experience, and definitely recommend it :)

There is not much options on Sunday in Guimaraes, so I was glad we found Xisko.

The seitan dish was good too, even though it could have been even better with a sauce.

Amazing! - Edit
Me and my mom stopped by for a bite to eat not really knowing what to expect, but WOW were we blown away. One of our best meals in Portugal! The flavors, textures, and presentation were on point! I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area! The waiter was such a pleasure and so nice he made sure to ask if we were vegetarian or vegan to ensure our order was fully plants based!

It's very closed to the city center...

Good but not great - Edit
We ate there one evening as Cor de Tangerina was closed. Great that they have a vegan menu! My main was good, my partner really enjoyed his mushroom starter, but the desert was partially frozen and partially warm. The outside tables must be nice on a warm day, but the inside isn't the most special place.

Rejected Vegan - Edit
I am a strict vegan and often like to review vegan restaurants. After arriving in Guimarães I googled vegan restaurants as I usually do and found this restaurant. After walking in the rain to find it, I was turned away at the door and told it was fully booked although there were numerous empty tables. I expect this was due to me being English. There was a table of Dutch football fans eating but obviously they don't appreciate English custom so avoid if you are from England.

Vegan option in Guimarães - Edit
Great staf, if you are vegan just say it, so the changes on the dish can be done. I advice the seitan carbonara pasta, very good and tasty, also if it's summer the fresh rose wine Barrio is very good.

Wholesome comfort food in the heart of the old town - Edit
The restaurant is not vegan/vegetarian but offers a full page of options without animal products. The waiter was very friendly and patient when explaining all the dishes. He explained that any dish that contained cheese could be made vegan. He also explained why a traditional meat-and-seafood-heavy restaurant has vegan options (the owner/cook/mother learned how to make vegan dishes when her daughter became vegan).
Read moreIt's located in a heart of the old town in a quiet and beautiful square.
We ordered four vegan dishes and shared among us. We ate very well. The food is tasty, fresh, homely, comforting and filling.
The only downside is that taking non-vegetarian friends here means they'll probably just choose a meat or seafood dish (and this isn't a criticism of the owner, as it's wonderful that she has included vegan options into her menu and isn't her fault that most people want to eat meat).
The price is appropriate for a town centre (main dishes between 10€ and 12€.
Would go back again. :)
