No choices - Edit
I went and there were no choices at all. They offered me a noodle sandwich and the noodles were a week old and they were microwaving them.

Delicious Vegan Options - Edit
We were getting ready to hit the road out of Milwaukee and ran across Xankia in Happy Cow. We were two blocks away. We called in our order of tofu spring rolls with cucumber and a couple of vegan sandwiches. I can't call the service lightning fast, but in their defense they were a bit busy when we showed up. The rolls were large and fresh and the dipping sauce was very good. Our only disappointment was that they were served in styrofoam carry-out containers.
Read moreI got the fried tofu sandwich (with jalapeños and my wife got the rice noodle sandwich. Both of us enjoyed them greatly. Bonus, they were wrapped in paper, not plastic or styrofoam.
So, not a bunch of vegan options, but we only needed to feed two of us. We'd definitely go back.
Pros: Interesting and delicious sandwiches, Good sized portions, Friendly staff
Cons: Styrofoam carry out containers

Best bahn mi in Milwaukee - Edit
Small, mostly lunch place downtown. They make a decent, no frills, great value sandwich. If you get the chance definitely recommend snagging one up- you won't regret it.

the only flavor my vegan options had were salt and grease - Edit
to be fair I got food from here my first night visiting from out of town so *maybe* it's decent compared to what else is available nearby (though i'm staying in downtown so I'd think there would be a good selection.) My omni dad said his food with meat all up in it was "okay". mine (vegan) was awful. I think the tofu in my noodles and bahn mi was the canned, over processed, super salty faux meat you can get at the international food market. The "egg" rolls (which the girl said were vegan because I wanted spring rolls that were fried) were just greasy vermicelli noodles in a deep fried wrapper - no veggies. the only flavor other than salt and grease I got from any of my three items was when I accidentally got a bite of a raw sliced jalapeno which scorched my entire lower facial area. no. just absolutely no

Vegan banh mi - Edit
This place started out in the cafe section of an Asian grocery store (Pacific Produce) and I'd make special trips there just for Xankia's tofu banh mi. I am so happy they have this stand alone spot now downtown. I worry that they don't get a lot of business so please go support them! You can get the veganized banh mi with either tofu or glass noodles (I prefer the tofu).
