A vegan set menu

To be a one Michelin star restaurant the service was very poor but the food was great. A bit pricey.

Fantastic Vegetarian Restaurant and excellent service ...

Found this beautiful chic fine-dinning restaurant which is situated in the historical building and located at touristy area with a beautiful waterfront and view of the Pudong area ... Nearby is the Yu Garden, within walking distance. Perfect for a meal and go sightseeing nearby.

Enjoyed a awesome dinner with a beautiful presentation. The name of the dish are beautiful too and tasted amazing. 又见炊烟 RMB 28 (S$5.6) - this aromatic fried rice that isn't oily yet tasty, the plum gives the dish an oomph. The crispy rice add texture to this dish. The soba noodle - 山野菜荞麦面 (RMB 47.40/S$10) is simple but tasty.

Excellent service, the service staff even walked me to the lift after my meal.

Best fine dining

Really amazing fine dining restaurant. Must visit in Shanghai. Delicious seasonal food, a modern and upscale twist on classic chinese cuisine. Pricey but worth it. I only wish their desserts were a little better (maybe we were just unlucky with the season)

Pros: Fine dining, Delicious, Friendly staff

Cons: Price, Desserts

Favourite place

This place is a must if you're in shanghai. I tried many different vegan things like marinated chilli tofu, lotus root filled with tofu, great vegetable soup, lotus filled like a spring roll and some more. My favourite vegetable was this kind of seaweed with little bubbles, so special and delicious!
All in all a relaxing place with nice, well informed staff and the most delicious food.
I would visit Shanghai again just to eat at WUJIE 😄

Fixed menu is amazing

I ate here twice in 2017-2018 during work trips to Shanghai. Each time I had one of the fixed menus. The food is some of the most delicious I've ever had, and I would definitely eat here again if the opportunity presented itself.

Fine Dinning

We didnt plan to come here. Was looking for a place to eat at around 8pm and i knew there is a vege place near by, so i asked someone and he told me the address by checking his phone. So, we were anything near "fine" when we arrived. The service was good, food was good, but since it was "finely" done, portion was kind of small. We had 2 appetizers (normal size if you don't consider the price), 2 main courses (slightly small) and some macaroons as deserts. i think by conversion, it was around 100$ USD in bill. i wish they had normal menu instead of the ipad.

Pros: "Finely" done, if that is your thing

Cons: Price

Memorable and Delicious

Everything about this restaurant was wonderful... the location, atmosphere, service, menu selections, and the meal itself. It is the kind of dining experience you will remember for years. The price was shockingly low given the quality. If I am back in Shanghai, I will definitely go again.

WUJIE

I ate here recently on a visit to Shanghai.
Fine vegan dining at its finest.
Many courses of tiny dishes that leave you feeling full and satisfied. So many amazing flavors in the tiniest bites.
Was a little pricey, staff are more Chinese speaking but try very hard to help and accommodate you.
When you get out the lift it is to the left the restaurant name is in Chinese so a little harder to work out.

WOW! Amazing vegan fine dining

This restaurant is fancy and awesome so definitely something for a special occasion! Their combinations are unreal, unique and so tasty. They do vegetarian and vegan, and even my (normally meat eating) family loved it.
Very classy interior too and some of the staff has good English.

Not serving food outside lunch and dinner hours

As there are not many options in the area, you might want to note that they do NOT serve food outside lunch and dinner hours. I was very disappointed when I arrived very hungry at 3.30 p.m. only to be told to come back after 5 p.m., even though opening hours imply that they're open all day.

Great food and service

Went here last night and thought it was great! Dishes are both inspired from abroad and Chinese. Staff speak some English and service was good! Dishes containing dairy and egg are marked out, aswell as chili, garlic etc. The two of us paid 150 rmb each for three dishes, rice and water.

Pros: Nice place, Great service , Good food

Cons: No alcohol served

incredibly creative delicious, fast service

Probably the most creative vegetarian cuisine anywhere. Great well crafted taste, spicing, great upscale ambiance and service, don't know how they bring food so fast to table. In all categories - appetizers juices soups entrees. You can find lasagna and tradition Chinese on same place. Prices are mid range, higher for local budget but not too high. I had stuffed lotus root dish, chestnuts plate, tofu cream cake, Thai curry with vegetables (large serving) - with fresh pumpkins, basil, lemongrass and home made Tofu with seaweed, in yellow Thai curry, served in stone bowl so it stays bubbly hot. Best to come with friends so you can try different things. They use some egg in some dishes, majority of dishes are vegetarian. Located on fourth floor of a upscale retail building on the bund. From outside the building looks modest. Place your order via iPad. Enjoy!

Pros: location, ambiance, variety and creative cuisine

Cons: some of the dishes can be rich

Incredibly taste, fancy, splurge!

This place is pricey! 2 star Michelin rating. Worth the price if you're up for a splurge. Presentation and service is impeccable. 4 of us went for a set meal for 4, plus some extras. We all liked all dishes, and loved all but one. It cost 308 RMB each. But a super nice way to end our last day in Shanghai.

Pros: Beautiful presentation, Fabulous food! , Super service

Cons: Pricey

Fancy Restaurant

If you happen to go to The Bund, it is located on the fourth floor of the building. There are elevators on your left as you walk in. Once you get inside the restaurant you will be seated and there will be an ipad on your table, then you will choose some items and you will press on the price and it will add it to your bill. The items on the menu look bigger than what will appear on your plate so you might want to order more than one item.

Good Food, A Bit Pricey

Definitely not typical Chinese fare - but small portions and kind of pricey.

As mentioned in other reviews, the ipad menu is confusing. They have symbols that are supposed to show ingredients but I'm not sure it was consistent. One tip: when you want an item, you press on the price and that creates your order.

Also, the portion sizes are small so best to order extra.

Interesting fine dining vegetarian place

Wujie on the Bund is special in that it offers not the "normal" Chinese Vegetarian fare, but that it has many options that seem quite sophisticated, while still rooted in Chinese cuisine (not to say that Chinese cuisine is not sophisticated).

However, a few of those creations were a bit "over the top" for me. As others have mentioned, the menu on the iPad looks special and is cool, but not as practical as a simple paper menu. The good thing is that it has some small icons denoting which dishes do contain milk or eggs.

I was there with omni colleagues, who were all impressed by the specialties, and the ambiance of the restaurant. So if you are interested in a special Vegetarian experience and like to experiment a bit, then this is just the place for you.

Prices are not low, but ok for the quality offered

Pros: Special food, nice taste, Vegan options clearly visible

Cons: Prices a tad high, Some of the dishes too sophisticated

Makes a Great Date Night!

Went here with my husband (who is not vegetarian) and we both really enjoyed it. It is upscale and although expensive by Chinese standards, is not all that expensive by Western standards. The menu is interesting and delicious, and as a whole made for a really special evening!

Relaxing, Delicious, Highly Recommended!

This is a great restaurant if you'd like to have a nice vegetarian meal by the Bund. The restaurant has a smart design and is in an upscale building, but still manages to feel casual. It's a great place for a date or to treat family.

Our meal for two people was 340 RMB, including drinks, which is not cheap but also not too expensive considering the experience. We ordered four main dishes to share, rice, and fresh juice. We loved it all and felt like it was the perfect end to a day of traveling.

The menu is on an iPad, which was actually unnecessarily awkward. The menu format is one thing I would change, but still, it's manageable and you can see photos of everything. For the non-Chinese speakers, they did have quite a few people who could speak English.

Just one note on the location for those who aren't familiar with Shanghai, Zhongshan Road has different sections, so we found the restaurant by using the nearest cross street, which is Xinyong'an Road. If you're at all confused, the building, Bund 22, has a map on their website.

Pros: Delicious Food, Location, Great Atmosphere

Cons: Price
