Very disappointing vegan breakfast at £11

Better communication. And remembering to bring condiments when you say you will.

Pros: Pleasant building

Cons: Expensive

Apologies for the missing condiments, I have passed this on to the people working that day. As for the price, we usually get people exclaiming how large the portion is and struggling to finish it, so I’m not sure what happened there. Please also note that we use high quality ingredients, e.g. instead of buying mass-produced frozen cubed potatoes and unhealthily deep frying them, we buy real potatoes from a local supplier, prepare them ourselves and cook in an oven. We will never be able to do say a £9 breakfast with those kind of ingredients.

Would be 5 stars if they went 100% vegan

Called in for a quick smoothie. Good to see scrambled tofu on a menu, think that's the first time I've seen it first-hand. Two of the salads looked good, but disappointing that they're not all vegan.

Pros: Nice smoothies, Friendly staff, Quick service

Cons: More non-vegan options than vegan , Hard to ignore that it's a non-vegan establishment

Thanks for your review, unfortunately we don’t think it will be financially viable to be fully vegan at the moment but we can keep increasing the number of vegan options.

Great for soups and cakes

A great little lunch spot with delicious soups and a good selection of cakes, including vegan and gluten free options.

It can get quite busy, especially on weekends, but has great energy and with an overflowing notice board it’s a good place to get an idea of local events and courses.

Pros: Great soups, Good cake and drinks selection, Nice vibe

Cons: Busy and hard to find a seat on Saturdays

Beautiful flavours

Loved this cafe. Excellent food and friendly service, all at a good price. The vegan paella was gorgeous and the vegan burger was packed full of goodness and flavour. Rounded off with the beetroot chocolate cake, which was stunning.

Lovely place with high-quality food

Cute little place with tasty food. Not a massive menu, but all organic and very well-prepared. Definitely worth stopping by :)

During covid, they also provided take-out services. The menu did not change much throughout this period, so the variety wasn't massive, but the food was really tasty and there was definitely something for everyone.

Pros: Fresh and organic, Variety of things on a single plate!

Cons: Not always much choice

Delicious food

I’ve been coming here since I was a child and the food is always delicious. As I write this, I am enjoying some of the best cake I have ever had, which happens to be sugar free and vegan. I also love the smoothies, lassis and milkshakes.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Healthy, sugar-free options , Friendly staff

Cons: Closes at 5, Sometimes a bit cramped

Highly recommended organic café

I’m a regular visitor to Woodruff’s. They do very tasty breakfasts and lunches, cakes and drinks. There’s a room with a little play area, toys & books for small children. Children’s menu is imaginative, fun & healthy too.

Great Lassie, bad carrot cake.

Had a delicious soya Lassie (banana and strawberry), would highly recommend. The carrot cake on the other hand was just not very nice. However, really nice cafe, great setting to catch up with friends and has a lovely play area for young children upstairs.

Pros: Lassie, Lovely setting and atmosphere

Cons: Carrot cake

Nice place.

We went to Woodruffs Organic Café during our holiday in the Cotswolds. We had lunch. The food was good, the staff was helpful and friendly. They also have some vegan sweets, like carrot cake. Vegan options are clearly indicated on the menu. We are pleased to see a place where they promote (organic) vegetarian and vegan food, so we don’t mind so much that they also serve fish.

Had to ask for a refund!

We visited here on a Saturday morning for brunch. I was pleased to see dogs are allowed in.
The menu clearly showed which items on the menu were vegan. I'd been looking forward to coming here for some time.
Unfortunately, the service was dire. After 20 minutes of waiting for a cup of coffee to arrive I went up to the desk to enquire. After 35 minutes, when still nothing had arrived, I went up and ask for our money back as the car park ticket was about to expire. There was no apology. Ironically, it appears that they had just started making our coffees when I went up for a refund. I was asked why I didn't want them. I explained we did want them, but 35 minutes ago!
We did get a refund, but obviously not of the generous tip I paid (upfront) for dire service.
I doubt we will return.

Pros: Vegan options , Central location , Dogs allowed

Cons: Slow and poor service

wish they were fully vegetarian! :(

although local to us, we don't often pop in to woodruff's since they began serving fish. it is a cosy place to have lunch and the soups are often vegan, so it's nice to occasionally have a soya latte, a bowl of soup and some of their lovely bread. still...the dead fish sort of ruins it. one really good thing that woodruff's do, however, is to offer vegetarian cookery courses. o, & staff are usually quite au fait with what veganism entails. consequently, they're able to make menu suggestions - although, vegan options are normally clearly indicated on their blackboard. all in all, it's nice for a quick lunch when you're in the town centre.

Pros: cosy, vegan items clearly marked, central

Cons: fish!, not open for dinner
