Tasty vegan options

Went here for breakfast. Has a number of vegan options and things that can be made vegan. It was tasty and we’d be back to check out more. Nice outdoor seating area.

Delicious lunch spot

We enjoyed the vegan Wild Rice Bowl with baked tofu. Rice, black beans, and veggies topped with a tasty cashew based sauce and cilantro. Highly recommended!

Simple and tasty

We had the rice bowl with spicy pesto, made of cashews. Healthy food, and tasted fine as well. Located in the downtown, surrounded by a lot of other interesting shops

Request vegan version of kale or mushroom bowls

Ask for a tasty vegan sauce (and without cheese, yogurt cream) for the kale bowl and mushroom bowl, with option to add tempeh. They have wheat grass shots, a list of fresh juices, and a vegan tahini chip cookie. Unfortunately, they tend to use bone broth in their soups, but may have a vegan option occasionally. Sounds like they stopped doing honey wash on the bagels and even offer vegan cream cheeze now! Look for more vegan options appearing on the menu now, such as quinoa salad and muffins.

Best vegan food on island

Delicious bowls, lots of vegan options. However, make sure you specify you want bowls to be vegan. Menu is a little confusing and what may look vegan may not be - their standard ‘topping’ seems to be a sauce/dressing with yoghurt/cheese which is NOT clear from the ingredients list. We found out the hard way first time and wasted $60! Highly recommend this place and it has a lovely outdoor area to enjoy your food. Freshly pressed juices are good too!

Pros: Fresh, Good vegan options

Cons: Menu is confusing! Non vegan topping not obvious

The best meal we had on the island!

We ate there every day we were on the island! Had the Kale sesame bowl(asked for it vegan)-amazing! The Kale in the bowls is phenomenal! The Wild sauce is delicious! Would give them 5 stars if I could (have to be fully vegan or vegetarian restaurant to be able to select 5 starts on Happy Cow) Smoothies were easily made vegan and so good and nutritious! They willingly made requested substitutions in smoothie. Felt so nourished and ready for the day after leaving!

Pros: Delicious and nutritious smoothies , Ask for vegan when order and they are happy to!

A Delightful Oasis!

On lovely Orcas Island don’t hesitate one second to nourish yourselves at this wonderful eatery. The service and attention to details were great! Healthy, excellent food; many vegan options.

I’ll be talking about the charm of this place in the future!

Great spot - I'm a regular

My husband and I (both vegan) are regulars at Wild Island. We love the kale sesame bowl vegan-style (hold cheese). The mushroom bowl and juices are tasty too.

Pros: Consistently fresh, Nice wait staff, Hours of operation (open til 6pm in summer)

Cons: More vegan options , Cookies aren't vegan , Would love it if they veganized the Pho ;)

Disappointing

Came to this place hoping for a vegan friendly meal on an otherwise barren island. I ordered the namesake rice bowl, made vegan, but it arrived with a little shred of chicken flesh on the plate. I also ordered a bagel which came on a separate plate and it had a long hair, between the bagel and the plate. There is an obvious lack of attention to detail and I'm unsure if the chicken was intentional. The decor of the place also strongly implies that animals are food. If you're sensitive to that or have a low tolerance for non-vegan errors to your food, do not go here.

Ick, the photo clearly shows the "mistake". Disappointing one of their staff did that by accident or on purpose.

Great veg-friendly bfast & lunch

Though they serve eggs, yogurt, and chicken, there's still lots of love for vegans at Wild Island.

You can get a vegan bagel with (non-vegan) cream cheese or hummus, a number of sandwiches with fresh-baked bread, or one of the signature rice bowls with organic brown rice, black beans, and a large array of additional sauces and veggies.

There's also a wide selection of fresh juice and smoothie options--vegans can get dairy-free milk in their smoothies. Also: coffee. As far as I can tell, most if not all of the food is organic.

The food is great--much better than your average lunch spot, and the prices are very reasonable given the quality and quantity of food. Plus the nicest people on the island work here.

Pros: Selection , Quality , Price

Cons: Limited hours
