Best grocery in the valley - Edit
Best options for plant based food here in the valley if you want something out of the ordinary. Premade options as well.

Small but adequate - Edit
This store is on the smaller side for a typical Whole Foods, but they manage to pack a lot into the small space. They produce section is not lacking in any way. Everything is fresh with lots of local Colorado options. They have a decent sized bulk food section. The salad bar at the current price of $9.99/lb is the highest price I have seen in a Whole Foods, but not by much. It adds up fast, so be careful! They also have a hot food bar, a sandwich counter and a prepared foods counter. I enjoy the store brand that they carry, as everything under that label (365 brand) is affordable and good quality. Large indoor and outdoor seating area for eating with lots of condiments and a microwave.

Good selection, sky-high prices - Edit
It's certainly good to have a large grocery store in this area that offers a good selection of health-oriented products, including some organic, local, and vegan options.
Read moreCustomers shouldn't be fooled, however, into thinking that everything sold here is healthy, organic, or even "whole food." There's plenty of processed junk to be found here, too. It's a commercial supermarket chain here to make bank off off people willing to pay a premium to shop in a premium environment.
I applaud them, though, for offering vegan pizzas, fresh juices, a good gluten-free selection, and other good stuff that can be hard to find elsewhere.
Employees here were friendly and helpful, and parking is ample.

Finally! - Edit
So glad that there is finally a Whole Foods in the Aspen vicinity. Cashier said it opened about 2 yrs ago in 2012.
Read moreSoup bar had about 5 out of 10 options labeled vegan on the day I visited. Typical WF Salad Bar with an enormous amount of choices to design your own meal. It wasn't the largest WF I've ever been to, but they had everything I was looking for & more.
Pros: More vegan soups than any other WF , Affordable healthy choices, Clean food options
Cons: A little far away from Aspen
