Brewery, bar and shop in a dramatic clifftop setting next to Whitby Abbey, with a spacious indoor cushion-on-barrel seating area. Bottles are not marked but all beer taps in the bar are marked vegan. However, non-vegan bar snacks are on sale. Also sells a small range of wine, spirits and soft drinks. Open Mon-Thu 11:00-18:00, Fri-Sat 11:00-21:00, Sun 11:00-18:00.

Worth every step - Edit
At the top of the steps behind the abbey, indoor/outdoor seating, many vegan beers and one vegan pizza with optional toppings. Great.

Brilliant! - Edit
Forgot to post my review from WGW in April, we came to see the bands playing during the day and stayed for pizza! The mariana is vegan and you can add toppings which we did with onion and jalapeños! Beautiful and fresh tasting pizza. The AF beer was nice too!

Beer with a view - Edit
Great brewery with a perfect view of the Abbey. The Smugglers Gold and session IPA beers we got were excellent. Already looking forward to returning again.

Great pizza! - Edit
Had the Marinara which is more like a tomatoey garlic bread but very delicious. For veggies there are three other options too. Fast service, lovely location right next to the Abbey and nice beer too 🍻

Great setting - Edit
Brilliant view of the Abbey from the outdoor seating area and some of the indoor seating. Vegan pizza very basic but tasty enough. Good atmosphere and staff seemed friendly.

Great clifftop spot - Edit
Really cool clifftop brewery with bottle shop and taproom
Read moreAll/most of the beers seemed to be marked vegan.
The pizzas looked great but unfortunately the only vegan option was a cheeseless pizza. If they get some vegan cheese in I'd love to come back
Pros: Lots of vegan beer
Cons: Only one vegan pizza with no cheese

Cracking pizza and pint - Edit
Offer might be simple but pizza’s are super tasty, with a vegan option, and the beers are great. We dine here a couple of times each time we holiday in Whitby. Great location and rest stop at the top of the infamous Whitby steps.

Perfect rest spot - Edit
Tucked behind Whitby Abbey with a great view to it. It looked like all of their beers were vegan😄I had the Jet Black which was kind of like a Guinness

Lovely vegan pizza! - Edit
Just had a lovely vegan 12" pizza (tomato base, garlic, basil) for £7! Beers marked vegan as applicable (number of options on the day we visited). Love this place!

Pizzas are perfect for vegans actually, could do with a few other topping options but good for us.

Great beer - Edit
All beers on tap were vegan. We enjoyed what we tried. Unfortunately they didn’t have bottled versions to take away as they can’t keep up with demand. Pizzas available but not vegan.

You’d Yeast expect it - Edit
Surreal and stunning setting by the ruins of Whitby Abbey. All the beer is vegan and there are many to try. The Black Death at a craftily brewed ABV of 6.66% is phenomenal. Certainly not a session beer but one to be appreciated and admired. The availability of food here is unpredictable so it’s probably best to assume there won’t be any. They may or may not have pizza but there are plenty of flavours of crisp to choose from to accompany your beer. Let’s face it you should really be coming here for a beer and social not the food.
