decent hot bar & salad bar and a lot of vegan products such as vegan cheeses and vegan jerky that i wouldn’t have expected to find in a small midwestern co-op!

Nice friendly supermarket and deli. We had the vegan tempeh Ruben sandwich, and the vegan focaccia pizza. Both with sides of roasted veggies.

Lots of vegan options. Everything is clearly labeled vegan and non-gluten. They also list the ingredients. My picky family members said they had great sandwiches.

I worked at Wheatsfield for 3 years, but no longer live in Ames. Every time I visit Ames, Wheatsfield is a must-stop location! Not only do I have sentimental feelings toward it, but the selection is top notch and the staff is amazing. Now that they have expanded significantly, there are more vegan options including baked goods, smoothies, and even sandwiches! The hot bar always has something vegan on the menu. Seriously one of my favorite places.

Awesome Store - Edit
This healthstore is awesome. Since they moved to the new location they have added a buffet and carry out. So many vegetarian options and vegan friendly too. Some of the items they sell are very unique. If you are in Ames do not miss visiting this store.

Wheatsfield rules! - Edit
This is an awesome co-op with an excellent helpful staff. They have a great bulk section, a great section of frozen and cold meat substitutes, tons of good natural and organic products which are hard to find locally. They moved from a quaint location to a huge and awesome new place recently which now includes a hot and cold food bar as well as a section of cold bulk pre made food items all homemade and with tons of veggie and vegan options. I love wheatsfield.
