Not good - Edit
I ordered the vegan breakfast however a member of staff confirmed that the hash browns and fish fingers are fried in the same fryer!
Read moreI don't like tomatoes so I asked if I could have extra mushrooms instead however apparently they do not allow for any swaps/ substitutes etc. Even though I was paying for a full breakfast and not having hash brows. The members of staff were friendly and polite however this seems like a poor way to run a cafe.
They also had no milk alternatives available.
Would definitely not recommend.

Vegan options are more expensive than meat options despite having less items. Had to buy more items just to make it filling

Vegan breakfast NOT vegan! - Edit
I've been here a few times and have enjoyed it. Particularly as I was told the chips were cooked separately in vegetable oil.
Read moreI ordered a vegan breakfast and asked if the chips were still cooked separately only to be told they never have been, everything goes in the same fryer.
Then I was told that the hash browns in the vegan breakfast are cooked in that fryer along with fish and black pudding. Therefore not actually vegetarian or vegan.

Scramble on the golf course - Edit
Part of the Hexham establishment and nice to see someone’s put it on Happy Cow. Clearly labelled vegan options including a solid all day breakfast, smashed avocado on toast and huevos rancheros (without poached egg as vegan) as well as other items. They also do an oriental style salad with aubergine strips for the vegan version. I went for scrambled tofu on toast at £5.60. It was nicely presented and actually very enjoyable indeed. If you’re in the town and parking at the huge sub golf course sized Wentworth car park then you can’t miss it and might as well give it a go.

Not vegan or vegetarian. Everything is fried in the same oil.

I see it’s been re-added to Happy Cow as a new listing. If that’s the case with the same oil it’s maybe worth getting it removed again. It’s not somewhere I’d ever like to go back to to be honest.

Scrambled tofu to die for! - Edit
I’m thrilled to see this little cafe in Hexham have added some vegan options to their breakfast menu - delicious options they are too!
Read moreMyself and my mum ate here last week and I opted for the ‘vegan breakfast’ which was £7.80 for a portion of the best scrambled tofu I’ve eaten, spinach, hash brown, tomatoes, mushrooms, beans and wholemeal toast. My mum opted for the smashed avocado on toast with coriander, lemon and harrisa - it was so tasty she asked for a second portion of the avocado. There is also an option for scrambled tofu on toast and a huevos rancheros that can easily be made vegan by omitting the poached egg.
The owner/manger was pleased we both enjoyed our breakfasts and was delighted to tell us that they are currently in the process of designing their new lunch menu to include more vegetarian and vegan options. We can’t wait to go back and try!
