Thursdays Are Vegan Night! - Edit
They have a few vegan options on their menu, so vegans can come here anytime. But I usually go on Thursdays, when their daily dinner special is something new, creative, and vegan! Sometimes it's mac and cheese with a cashew-based sauce and roasted Brussels sprouts. Or it might be a tofu bahn mi with a pile of French fries. It could be cashew grits with a sausage patty and roasted tomatoes. My favorite was their vegan "bee," which was an incredible, flaky biscuit with breaded and fried tofu drizzled with "honey" (I think they said it was highly concentrated apple juice). They always serve some kind of fresh fruit on the side, with a salad or fries as well.
Read moreThey post their veg night specials on Facebook and Instagram, though not always very promptly. There have been weeks that I missed a delectable-looking special because they waited too long after 5 p.m. to post it. Otherwise, visit their website to peruse their menu. There are fantastic lunch and dinner options daily, though really not anything good for breakfast/brunch. You can get a burrito for brunch, but that's way too heavy for me to have first thing in the morning. They had vegan lemon/poppy-seed pancakes one day as a special -- they were delicious, but I'm almost positive they served it with a dollop of butter (it didn't taste like Earth Balance, so I didn't eat that portion of the pancake).
Vegan desserts are hit or miss. They had a phenomenal cherry pie (with a vegan a la mode upgrade option) for a while, but it wasn't there last time I went. Currently there is a vegan chocolate pudding on the menu, which is OK. They seem to be keeping the vegan chocolate chip cookie on the menu, even though it's dry and crumbly. Unless you see something more enticing, I recommend driving down the street to Cashew Cow for dessert.
Pros: creative vegan specials, parking lot, friendly staff
